QUESTION Do i need to "optimise" my bulids?

Hi, im a 123 power leveled player in twine peaks and while looking for some tips on how to make my loadout work and such (for getting materials because i had no clue clip exists, don't scream at me lol) i found a lot of videos about how you should use THESE SPECIFIC supports, leads and team perks to make XYZ good, and like, do i actually have to follow these? or are they for "spending 7 hours in frostnite" type of people?

for reference, im asking this because im low key worried ill get stuck behind and ill have to catch up heavly rather soon

I'm also at 123 so I guess take my opinion with a grain of salt. You can definitely do a lot of play at high level with a "non-meta" or suboptimal loadout, but I suspect when we get to do 160s for superchargers, we may need to be more conscious of optimizing.

Like right now I have a Stoneheart bow loadout, but I do not have two of the "meta" supports (redline and rabbit raider). I have other heroes who help in their own way, and the bows do just fine without the meta supports at our current level.

I think maybe optimizing is important, but optimizing to the meta may not be necessary. I'm looking forward to trying some of my non-meta loadouts in 160s. Will I learn a harsh lesson or will I prove to myself it can be done differently? Time will tell.

Okay, yeah, you get it. I try to make people aware of these things. A lot of the time, players are kinda following recipes. They don't yet understand how to cook this dish, so they follow the recipe to a tee. The thing is, as you're aware, min/max optimization isn't really necessary.

For example, Farrah + TRO + Vacuum Bow is all that's needed to achieve maximum chain lightning rage. You don't need anything else for it to dominate.

If you have a Xenon bow, you don't need a "good build" for it. It's a meta breaking super weapon that does perfectly fine on its own in the hands of any hero or loadout.

Of course, there are specific specialist loadouts that do require all pieces to function properly, but when it comes to meta weapons and stuff... like who runs a Plasmatic Discharger specific loadout? Completely unnecessary 😅

stone heart farrah alone isn’t good, she is only good for crowd clearing but does nothing against bigger health enemies which is what you need that extra damage on

You want matching hero perks. You can pick whatever you want, but preferably you want certain aspects in different loadouts. Get a good hero, and check all the possible perks you could utilize. Don’t put a farming perk in a constructor build lol. Just use common sense and build it to your taste. The ones showcased in videos like that are pretty optimized to be the best for a certain job. While there are always perks you can substitute, it’s all preferential and there’s no “right” answer. You’d be surprised at how many high leveled people don’t even bother with it. I was playing survive the storm and a lvl 135-140 (I forgot exact level) had the worst possible loadout I’ve seen and was getting in the way placing the worst traps in the wrong direction. The fact you’re even trying to learn about this stuff makes you better than 50% of the player base :)

Strong synchronised hero builds are pretty essential for high twine. You’ve already discovered the strength of a good farming loadout. Strong hero builds will do the same for your DPS. If you find yourself struggling in higher level missions this will be part of the reason why. You also want to make sure your weapons and perks have parity with your hero loadout

For a proper farming loadout, you only need Archeolo-Jess, Fossil Southie, plus one other dino hero to activate Blast From the Past. Anything past that is extraneous optimization; the fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror.

You might have to do a farming scrub mission every now & then. This game is dumb that way. Building up enough resources and managing your play properly can get you to a state where you'll never need to do farming runs, though.
