Support/Advice Questions about oral minoxidil

I’ve been on it for 2 months and haven’t seen the progress I’m hoping for. I know it’s still relatively early, but if it were effective for me, would I be seeing some changes by now?

Also, I wonder about those of you that have gotten pregnancy after being on minoxidil, which is a drug you cannot take while pregnant. Do the hair growth effects of pregnancy offset the impact of getting off the drug? Assuming you cannot take it while breastfeeding, will the post partum hair loss be even more exaggerated?

Things were actually looking worse for me at 2 months because of the dread shed. I thought it "wasn't working" until about 6 months after starting. I'd say that unless you're a rare/lucky "hyper responder," you're months too early to be seeing results. Easier said than done, but please don't get discouraged!

I don't know the answer to your pregnancy question. I have zero desire for children ever, so I've never looked into that or given it any thought.

Thanks for the response! The doctor said 3-6 months so I’m not worried, but seeing some people on here with quick results made me question whether it’s effective on me.

Those people are the exception. Not the rule. For most of us results are painfully slow
