I once had a flame point Himalayan, and he had a double coat. The undercoat was soft and cottony, and it would get matted up under his arms and legs among other places, and I would have to shave him down every now and then. Plus he would get the usual hair balls that he would hork up usually in a place where I would step on them with bare feet.
I’m sure your beautiful fluff enjoys the warmth and cushion of their fur. There is maintenance that comes with such a long coated cat.

Whoa, that’s beautiful, but a lot for that kitty to manage. I hope it lets you help. I assume you get a regular rear end trim, but I’d be tempted to have it all shaved in cute lion cut before summer. That’s what we did with our Persian, fwiw.
But what a stunning floof!
