Hadn’t realized what a precarious financial situation most of these teams are in. Especially the privateer teams (which I didn’t know Maserati was in all but name). Crazy to think that DS techeetah won 5 titles while nearly going under every season

They are all just brands. Almost no sponsorship.

Yeah and very little revenue from the series I believe as well. I wonder how long some of these brands are willing to deal with a money-losing championship. Audi and Mercedes have already left. I love the racing and the future tech but every article I see is about how terrible the finances of the series are

Probably depends if Gen 4 can make a dent in the popularity for the championship. Currently there's a good amount of Manufacturers commited to that generation with some more eyeing it up as well, like Hyundai. So should be in a good spot for the time being.

They done well to survive post covid and gen 3 troubles which really put the championship on the ropes. It does feel like the evo generation is bringing some interest back. But ultimately it's going to be that gen 4 period that will decide the future for a lot of teams I think.

It's time to bring back Nicholas Latifi into racing!
