Giving Advice How to not feel suicidal studying

I'm a junior in high school so there aren't many options for my courses. Every time I open a book I wish I were in the States so I could shoot myself. But even if I focus and try to get through I get Ds. Nothing can convince me at this point to study harder. I gave up on so many hobbies and skill building just so I can focus on studying and it didn't bring me anywhere. Is there food or drink that makes you understand content better?

The number 1 problem with studying is that you take it to serious.

When you study you have to be light with yourself, don't take it serious, treat study like a game. Relax enjoy the game and try to win it. That it, is so simple.

If you take it hard or to serious, you'll get frustrated, you won t learn nothing because nobody wants to do something that they are scared of.

everyone here giving study advice when this clearly isnt the main issue its your mental health. you need to bring back atleast one hobby, spend a few hours a week with your freinds and family and introduce a schedule where you can plan your revision sessions rather than making it your whole existence.

ive been through what ur going through, i wish you luck

Dont be frustrated it happens. U have to deal with it, try to be consistent in ur studies. Start with small section and go for ur fav topics. Dont take high school so tough on urself. Talk to someone around u for stress relief can be ur mom, dad, sibling, friend, senior, anyone.

Go back to your hobbies to help your mental health. You shouldn't quit studying, but reduce the time. Still study most days, but not when you feel mentally unprepared. Maybe after doing something you like.

Study something you like, for me I do my math homework, then 20 mins of English homework, then do physics so that I can improve my mood while staying productive (I hate English)

It might be depression. I was like that some point last year and got diagnosed a few months later.

Yeah I agree with the post about mental health because you can’t pour from an empty cup. You probably need a break and to seek some professional help. There’s a myriad of conditions that can affect energy and concentration. Could be something as simple as vitamin D deficiency or a mental health issue. You won’t know until you get checked out. Secondly, I’m sure there’s a greater goal that makes you want to study better and it will make it even harder to reach that goal if you yourself are unwell. Pushing yourself beyond mental fatigue isn't much or a solution either because then your mind is exhausted with little energy left to concentrate and retain new info.

A study technique I use is something like the pomodorro technique in which you study with intermittent breaks. During those breaks you could focus on your hobbies or other less mentally straining tasks. This can be helpful but not so much if you’re struggling with unaddressed mental/physical health issues.

maybe it’s not the studying causing suicidal thoughts, it may be underlying conditions

Make studying fun, find a way to make it a game I remember in bio in highschool I legit made deez nuts jokes to remember ligaments and tendons other than that study with other people body doubling helps sm. Teaching/explaining the concepts to other people also helps build confidence and solidify them in ur own brain
