PLAY Happy NGD to me with some nighttime looping
Picked up an early 90s ST-62 Fujigen strat (from my birth-year). I've been through dozens of guitars but this is the first that I'm confident I'll have for life. Thanks for listening!

What amp are you using? Sounds great!

Thanks! I’m going through an Ego mini comp direct into the Dream ‘65 plugin

Huh… I have an American Strat with that plugin and I can’t get tone anywhere near yours. That sounds so awesome. I gave up on it because mine sounds terrible and tinny. Do you run any other plugins alongside that Dream ‘65, or what are your settings in the plugin? I’m using Logic.

Nope, just the Dream 65! Pretty flat settings (Vol 5, Treble 5.5, Bass 5, Reverb 6). Lead channel with bright switch off, EV12 cab.
I have the Line in gain dialed back a bit (-7db, but that will heavily vary depending on your usb interface). I was using position 4 on the strat with the volume and tone both rolled off a bit. Lastly I was finger picking which lends to that smoother sound - if I use a pick it definitely gets a lot brighter and sharper. There's still a ton of room for variety given different pickups and whatnot, but that should get you close!

I got one of these recently as well! Same model, same part of the 90s, same factory - phenomenal guitars. Defo a keeper for life. Great tone and playing 🔥

and such a Beautiful tone too, side question about your hm chair, how comfy is it for playing guitar in? I don't see too many people play guitar in it but it's always in lots of studios

I think it’s actually a knockoff HM. It doesn’t have arm rests which makes it better, but the seat still gets in the way a bit for some bigger guitars (ES-335, acoustics) so I have to sit at an angle. Not bad though

I’d love to know what amp and settings you’re using.

Strat > Ego compressor > DI to the Dream '65 plugin. I'm using the plugin's reverb which is one of the best digital spring reverbs I've heard
