I really like the idea of doing this. Sam Seder always talks about the thing people seem to miss with billionaires is that they don’t necessarily do musk style pay for play schemes and dump tens of millions on campaigns. What they do is use their money and influence to affect public policy with their kooky ideas and people are willing to go along with them because “they’re rich they have to be smart”. Like how bill gates was allowed to almost single handedly destroy public education. Another example is musk building Tesla traffic jam tunnels instead of trains. No one should be listened to in business if they want into government. Regan said the worst thing you could hear is “I’m from the government and I’m here to help ” when in reality it’s “I’m a business man and I’ll run the country like a business” from someone campaigning for public office

So the GOP has decimated public education and thrashed colleges as "liberal indoctrination camps" and basically opposed any funding or help to Americans for either which makes H1b visas pretty much mandatory for tech companies. And they're complaining now they won't hire Americans? They literally want DEI for white people now lol. lmao.

I'm pretty sure, intentionally or otherwise, the red states are moving to replace unskilled migrant laborers with uneducated American teenagers by defunding public education and rolling back child labor laws in tandem with anti-immigration laws. It's going to create a vicious poverty cycle.

Trump runs on anti immigrant america first platform, Musk helps finance and support Trumps campaign. Now Musk is saying we need more immigrants to come in to take the high skilled jobs because americans aren't smart enough to do them. Queue maga raging at him not only supporting more immigration (while they want to deport all immigrants and ban it altogether) but also undermining americans by wanting to abuse the h1b visa program to replace american workers who musk thinks are too stupid.
