Introducing the Hybrid Hoopla!

Once per month there will be a week-long theme for the subreddit. The weeks theme will be found in a stickied post at the top of our subreddit. The sidebar image will always link to this post.

Summary:

Artists make Hybrid Humans based off of the weekly subject. Images are submitted with a generic title and no identifying information other than the weekly subject. Users can comment on entries and guess the name of the Hybrid. Winners will be declared at the end of the week and will be given an opportunity to choose the next subject.

How to enter:

  • To enter the contest, make a Hybrid using that week's chosen subject. PLEASE NO TEXT!

  • Entries must be original content to you. Do not post someone else's work you found online. If you made an image a year ago that is now suiting, we want to see it!

  • Use the links in the announcement thread that week or in the sidebar.

  • Titles will be filled out for you by using the links on the subreddit that take you to the submit page. Entries that do not follow the title format will be removed. Don't edit the title!.

  • Post it to /r/HybridHumans.

  • Our bot will send you a message confirming your post. You MUST reply to the message the bot sends you with who your Hybrid is. If you do not do this, winners cannot be called and your entry will not count.

  • Once the bot receives the solution for your Hybrid, your post will automatically enter contest mode and all comments will be hidden. Members can leave a comment on your submission guessing what the Hybrid's name is. First correct guess will win for that submission.

  • Users may make as many guesses as they want. Guesses are for the name of the Hybrid the artist has created, not the sources used. Answers must be exact so users are encouraged to make more than one guess if they think a variation may or may not be used in the Hybrid's name.

    • One reply per guess.
    • Case does not matter.
    • Alphanumeric characters only. a-z A-Z 0-9 All other punctuation and special characters will be removed.

  • At the end of the contest period whatever user has the most individual winning guesses will be declared that weeks winner and hold the guessers trophy

  • All submissions will have their total correct guesses and karma added together. The Hybrid with the highest score for the contest period will be declared the winner and hold the artists trophy

  • A coin will be flipped to determine which winner chooses the next subject.
