This is tough and I generally refer to Larry David’s take on it. Window has the benefit of window and can lean on the wall. Aisle has the benefit of slightly more leg room which would leave the benefit of the middle row having 2 arm rests. If I’m aisle or window I leave my inside armrest for middle person. It always made the most sense to me.

No it's not tough. He's not claiming the armrest, he's asking the other guy to get their elbow out of his side.

Ah yes. On second look I see his elbow nudging the guys side. Well then yes don’t poke him I agree. I think he gets armrest from the middle but within the reason of don’t be jamming others in their side

He filmed the whole interaction. He likely knows his fans would find it funny seeing how big he is on the airplane. He was polite, he asked nicely. What about this is MC syndrome?
