Help Help inkscape keep crashing when i create a new layer

Hi I opened one of my inkscape file because I needed to chance something but everytime I try to create a new layer inkscape keeps crashing , I don't have the issues with new files or any other svg file I had already (embroidery or not)

It is a file with an embroidery design but saved as an svg for now if that changes anythings

Sounds like this bug, which will be fixed in the next release. In the meantime, some people report that enabling 'Only show layers' in the panel's options may prevent the crash.
