Healthcare Real question, how did Bob Marley die?
A number of Jamaican persons I've met have said it's not because of Cancer.
Suh, what do you believe?

My understanding is that it was melanoma (an aggressive form of skin cancer). Someone can comment more, but I think it went something like this: there is a tell-tale sign of melanoma under fingernails and toenails that's a dark streak. He had a minor soccer mishap and saw the streak on one of his toes (big toe perhaps?). I believe he thought it was the result of the soccer accident, but eventually saw physicians.
The normal course of treatment would be to amputate the toe. He didn't want that. In the end, I don't know if the amputation would have saved him, as melanoma can metastasize readily, but it could have saved him it if the amputation had been done early enough.
Edit: obviously there can be conspiracy theories, but the above is my understanding.

Bob Marley death was ultimately from the spread of acral lentiginous melanoma to his lungs and liver.
If you’re interested in knowing the well documented story, this site describes the chronology, as can his family, should you happen to meet any members.

I did the Bob Marley Tour at 9 Mile this week. The very lovely Rastafarian said it was skin cancer in the toe, but that was what the Man said and they don't trust the Man.
It's likely why there are persistent rumours of his death

Aggressive melanoma.
Skin cancer is rare in black people but when it happens it tends to present, similarly to Bob, in areas not typically highly exposed to the sun, like under toe and fingernails

Melanoma on his foot which is the most severe skin cancer if left untreated can metastasize/spread and be deadly

I read, he died in a plane layover in Miami while he was trying to get to a hospital to get Medical care.

IDK how in the world this came about, but a college professor in New England (USA) confidently told me/the whole class that Bob Marley was fatally bitten by a spider 🤷🏾♀️

What if we were to find it was murder, what could be done now? I doubt an investigation from the same authorities that took his life would be fair/honest.

I always heard it was gangrene on his toe that he never got treated and when he did finally go get it looked after, it already spread
and then I hear during the last interview he did up the mountains, that's when he was poisoned with the bacteria while kicking a soccer ball

Definitely the government. Bob Marley was against Western Medicine and was working with doctors to try and create natural remedies and cures. So Big Pharma was the cause of his demise.

He stopped breathing.😆 Seriously it's health issues and his main point before passing is to maintain YOUR health and REMAIN educated because health is your wealth. It's great that his philosophies are still relevant.

The melanoma as explained was likely from his white side(his father). Although black people can catch melanoma it is extremely rare compared to whites where the rate is 1 in 38 compared to 1:1000 for black people.
He also didn’t want to get the treatment for it as he was supposed to be on tour, in turn it progressed quickly

Negligence. He had what was thought to be a football injury on his toe. If he had cut that toe off he’d be here today. But, due to his strict Rastafarian beliefs he left it untreated. It was actually not an injury, but the beginning stage of cancer. Knowing Jamaicans them probably wrap the toe with ginger & garlic. Old time bush medicine kill nuff Jamaicans back in a di day boy.

Cancer. A very unusual type but treatable. He refused western medical recommendations and that was entirely his choice.
