Food How do you like your patties - smooth or flaky? Spicy or mild? What do you consider the best patty you ever had and why?

Flaky not too flaky though. Good amount of filling either spicy beef or jerk chicken. Of course can’t do it without a coco bread & kola champagne

Beef Flakey, crisp spicy and scorching hot. Meat should be oozing out. Just the patty, imo the extra starch from cocoa bread ruins the experience. Like putting extra bread on a perfect sanwich.
Best regular patty company is Tastee by a mile. Its a real shame they aren't as widespread as Mother's or Juicy. My favourite patties are devon house curry goat patties.

(Homemade)My fathers patties, flaky with beef and Pickapeppa sauce... I was honestly disappointed when I had my first authentic beef patty. The filling was too mushy, almost like refried beans, though the flakyness of the dough made up for it. I assume that's how they keep them cheap(by stretching the beef into a slurry), so homemade is best

To me their patties don’t taste the same anymore, because new management = new formula.

Juici Spicy beef and cheese on coco bread is the ultimate for me. Luckily a patty place near my place in Canada opened recently, and they do it right. They make authentic Jamaican patties with coco bread the whole deal. Never seen a beef and cheese patty in Canada before going to Jamaica. Only usually plain beef, chicken, or veggie.

Tastee patty was the best but Juicy a do it now. They’ve surpassed Tastee in all aspects of the patty game and have innovated into a great restaurant offering more than patties.

Someone in Spanish Town told me Tastee vs Juicy is a Kingston vs Mo Bay rivalry. Is this true? If so, shouldn't there be a match to decide it once and for all? A death match.
Also, 100% flaky is best. Also, homemade patties are better than any you can buy

Flaky and cheesy. I can't just eat a regular patty. Must at least be a cheese patty.
