Sports Grand Slam Track
Watching grand slam track and I'm so disappointed in the turn out so far. Jamaicans really don't appreciate things like they should. A field full of olympians and record holders and not even a full grand stand.
Its honeslty a shame and I hope Grand slam organisers pull the funding and investment. TVJ isn't even broadcasting it. Hopefully people are just late but it's so disappointing and upsetting.
Edit: I was wondering if something is happening behind the scenes as well. It's so strange to me that with the caliber of Jamaica track commentators that none were added to the broadcast. No Jamaican presence in a jamaican event is strange.
I'm wondering if the Americans went there with a "only we can do things" mentality that irked the Jamaicans, who then being Jamaicans took their hands off and said run wid it den. That lack of local knowledge really came through

The website says it’s on tvj but it’s also not very well marketed. I made the trip specifically to support. But it’s a lot to ask for 3 days (I’m only going to 1). I want the athletes paid but I fear their budget is blown and the sponsors appear to be missing and tv rights aren’t enough to properly advertise. The website is less than stellar too.

Also, the biggest expo on the island is taking place 200 yards away from the stadium & it's also a 3 day event.

Today is a work day no one that has ambition would choose a sporting event over earning money to live and achieve their goals.
If you were talking about the Saturday and Sunday turn that's a different story because most Jamaicans don't work on weekends.
