This video just brought into focus the thing I've always liked about Snoop but couldn't put my finger on.
The rappers he spends time have a certain persona they put forth when they were coming up, and it worked because they're now all very, very rich.
But 20 years on, they're still striking those poses and scowling to look badass. Snoop is saying to the world I'm rich, still in demand and I spend weekends with my grandkids. Life is goooooood.

I feel that's now part of his persona. He's gotta be that guy, always high, having a good time, extra energy but mellow doing his own thing

Interesting. I just view it as snoop only cares about snoop. He's rich and doesn't care about anything or anyone.

In fact, life is so good for Snoop that he sold the fuck out because he got his, so fuck everyone else.
Fuck Snoop.

Every single one of em sold out. That's how they got rich. Snoop be living his best life, let him.

Nah. You think he needed to hitch his cart to Trump? He has more money than he'll ever spend. That endorsement was a choice. Snoop said all this shit Trump has done isn't a dealbreaker.
Yeah he's living his best life, but for almost everybody else, this is the worst. So fuck him. I'm done with him.

Sellout to what. The whole point of rapping was to get rich... to sellout. Mission accomplished.

While you are correct, thereโs a difference between being a mainstream music sellout and being a Trump-supporting sellout whoโs willing to sacrifice the rights, status, and livelihoods of everyone in the streets he grew up on.

What you are looking to call him is hypocrite. In 2017 he called anyone to preform for trump inauguration he would call them an Uncle Tom. Second time he takes the check no problem.

Trump embodies the "fuck you, I got mine" mentality of a lot of hip hop. It's not a surprise to me to find that a lot of the community support him.

I will probably get down voted for this, but I get why he sold out. Trump pardoned Snoop Dogg's friend Michael 'Harry O' Harris at the end of his first term. There's definitely worse reasons to sell out than that.

The price tag for a Trump pardon is $2m (seriously, Google it). There's no need to be a bootlicker, as well.

Jeez, I am the same height as Snoop (6โ4โ) and just realized how short Eminem is, just a wee angry man is he.
