(shrug) Depends.

I'm a woman so usually it's women cause I don't have to worry they'll try to hit on me, but my current boss is a stellar dude and I've never once worried about anything.

I am a man and most of cool stuff I learn from men.

I don't care about the provenance of knowledge but in a highly-specialized environment it is the reality.

I learnt quite a few cool receipts from women, if it makes you feel less offended.
