Rad! But more blending!

Sorry but what’s blending?

Blending is sanding two separate pieces of wood together to minimize the gaps between them and make them look and feel like one piece.

I’d like to respectfully be a nay sayer. The body is amazing but I’m wondering why you needed so many shims on the neck? Are you trying to compensate for neck angle because of the bridge? Also three types of wood which all have very different densities was a cool idea but very hard to execute. Coming from the dude who talked to you about checks/cracks in padouk if you remember?

Yessir.
Yeah, so the different woods was just a thing that kinda happened because I was rifling through offcuts.

Flat sawn wenge is my worst enemy haha Can we get some pictures of the neck and neck pocket in the future? I’m super excited to see you finish this build brotha In the future think about compensating neck angle from the neck pocket of the body so you don’t have to change the dimensions of your necks heel. Looking at your body now, I can see the rerouting the neck pocket would’ve been a bad idea

Oh there's still time to compensate! I was just going to use a tiny shim to get a little angler to it all fender style.

The only thing I dont like is the burned part. I dont like the burned look on anything. Furniture, instruments, whatever, to me nothing looks good burnt. Cause, it's burnt, that's damage. Whether it's actually damaged or not I cant wrap my head around it. I watch furniture youtubers & they'll burn perfectly good tables & I hate it. Just my opinion. Nice to me otherwise.

Was there a fire? Why does the meat of that neck sandwich look charred?

Wenge. It's a crazy hardwood. Had to shim up the neck as it was not suitable for the neck cavity.
Been some interesting things happening with this one. So far no serious miss steps.

The heel is a bit of a 1 off look, but if it feels good, they roll with it. Also, what’s the tie in with ozempic? Is it a thin body?

I would sand it until the layers are perfectly uniform the clear coat, or oil it to bring out the natural shine

Looks pretty cool, I like the body shape. Is the body your design?
Do you have any front on pics of the body?

I used a meteora as a template on paper, made some changes to overall dimensions by hand cut it out, glued it on plywood. Cut and sanded. Routed things and boom, custom template.

I prefer to match the wood from the back for the cavity cover but still a great looking ax.

The idea of roasting the neck pocket to make it more adaptable to the body is both lazy AND COOL AS FUCK. I prefer to mount a neck to my body blanks so I can cut it out as I like. We all have our own process. You do it up how you get the best results brah. I am super curious. Lets bang our blanks together and sip some water together some day.

I looooove this. Definitely needs to be sanded a bit smoother, but looks absolutely killer. Plus “Ozempic Meteora” is the funniest shit I’ve ever heard
