Their owner still fight online with anyone who doesn’t think it’s the greatest beer ever brewed?

I live in Frederick and go to Idiom pretty often. Generally, when a brewery takes an action like this, I assume it’s a sign that they’re contracting (or at least don’t plan to continue expanding).

But with the presumed recession by the end of the year - especially for Maryland - I’m thinking that this might be a smart move to control costs for the foreseeable future.

What are anyone else’s thoughts on this?

Idiom makes great beer, has a great space and a great brewery in that space. The distro game is rough as shit. I’m sure they’ll kill it doing more batches at the taproom, focusing on their food and cocktails

Seems like distro is a dead end for a lot of places.

Exciting Changes Ahead! 🚨

🍻 After much thought, we’ve decided to close our production facility and move all brewing operations back to our taproom! That means you’ll now get a front-row seat to the brewing process while enjoying all the same Idiom beers you love—crafted right in front of you! Idiom as a business is not for sale, we are simply selling equipment.

🍺 This shift lets us focus more on enhancing your taproom experience while still keeping our local distribution flowing. It’s not a step back—it’s a step towards bringing you the best beer, food, and cocktails we can!

❓ We can’t wait to share this next chapter with you. Got questions? Let us know! And as always, THANK YOU for being part of this journey.

Are they doing poorly? Feel like they always draw a solid crowd.

I think it’s still popular as an event space. I’ve always found the beer to be average at best
