PSA Nightflower pollen farming is still here and still really efficient! (heavily nerfed)

Rejoice all animal crossing players for you can now turn monster hunter back into animal crossing despite the nerfs! This new method takes approximately 8-9 minutes from my testing per cycle so it's definitely a lot slower than what we had before, but it's still considerably faster than farming dual hunts with a tempered apex which average 12-15 artian/high rarity deco's from my experience (unless you have an insanely goated 4 stack that can crank those hunts out in approximately 5 minutes or less).

With the preface out of the way lets get into the method.

step 0 (optional): unlock all of your material retrieval NPCs. Every rest you do will get you 1 cycle of items so this is a good way to passively farm a bunch of resources while you do this

Step 1: load into literally any lobby and rest until evening. The weather conditions don't matter whatsoever.

Step 2: save and fully close down your game

Step 3: reopen the game and open a private or single player lobby (it might work with an online group lobby but I haven't tested)

Step 4: Wait approximately 7 minutes in the overworld. During this time you can trade with nata, collect some herbs or bugs, or just flat afk it doesn't really matter.

Step 5: after 7 minutes have passed, the day will have turned from evening to night, after which just collect your pollen as normal (area 4 west camp and area 9 lookout hill camp)

Finally just rest until evening, and repeat steps 1 through 5 and you're collecting pollen again.

Keep in mind this will ALMOST CERTAINLY GET NERFED. The only reason this works right *now* is because for whatever reason when you open the game fresh, the game *always* has the first night as a full moon. If and when this gets nerfed assuming they don't touch the nightpollen trade, this will still be functional, but it will require you to rest at camp about 6 or 7 times per run of pollen so it'll be way more annoying

I fully support cheese methods but at this point you might as well hunt monsters instead of standing around almost 10minutes (to hopefully save 2min)

I appreciate the sentiment, but things like this give those of us with limited time a way to make some progress while semi AFK. I can't hunt as often as some of my friends and this helps keep me viable.

I'd argue it depends on how consistently/fast you can crank out dual investigation quests. The average rewards for those are around 10-11 artisan parts on the high end, and those quests are gonna give you like 2-3 deco's. comparatively this method while significantly slower to the original pollen method, it still nets you 20 artisan/deco's on the low end per 9-10 minutes (higher if you're making armor decos or non targeted artisan parts).

Now if you have a giga chad 4 stack with tons of experience and are cranking out dual tempered apex investigations in 5 minutes or less, that will 100% be faster and more efficient, but if you're averaging 7 minutes or higher for those same quests, or god forbid ever fail those quests, this method is way better for farming artisan and decos, with the added benefit of you being able to afk and watch a show while you wait

I believe it's patched with title update 1. I've tested it once after the update and it didn't work anymore for me. Still waiting on the youtube guide makers on full confirmation and new exploits.

in which areas does this flower exactly spawn? also whats the icon on the map?

There is no icon on the map as long as the flower doesn't bloom. One is in area 10 near a tree and one is in area 3 if you climb on the cliff near your tent. Run to the cliff with your seikret (into the wall whit the wooden trough) and jump off your seikret. Your character will climb on the cliff.

The two in the Windward plains spawn in area 3 and area 10. The Scarlet forest ones spawn in area 14 and 18. Look for the dark blue plant icon. It'll have a small question mark on it too.
