I've been in a similar situation, even with the emailing back and forth. All I can say is that I had to work through it and move on. Only time will tell, but it gave me a lot of hindsight on the relationship (which it sounds like you're having) and now I know what I want and expect from someone.
That other commenter is right, you will think about it less and less. Things will improve! It's easy to doubt in the moment, but trust 💚
