I'm 36 but my mom died last year and I still miss her hugs. They were so full of love. Thanks for being a great mom.

I stopped by my daughter's place tonight to say hey and see how she's doing because I knew she had a lot of stress going on lately.

The first thing she did when she saw me was come up and hug me and just hold on to me. She said all she really wanted today was a hug from me and she was so glad I stopped by without her having to ask.

I about cried because giving hugs is my job as a mom but getting the thanks for it and knowing that I'm doing something that makes her feel better is the best payment I could ever get.

I hope you know that your hugs meant just as much to your mom as her hugs meant to you.

I'm about to go to sleep but I am sending a big mom hug to you now!

As someone who had a pretty shitty bio mom, I do actually understand and that's why I've become a mom to three young ladies who also had shitty moms. I jokes that I gave birth to one daughter and picked three more up on the side of the road. LOL

I grew up in lily-white Indiana and married a white, blue-eyed woman I grew up with. We then moved to south Florida because of career stuff and started a family. Childcare was already ridiculously expensive then and we were very blessed to have found a Jamaican woman who had her own child a couple months prior who ran a daycare out of her home. That woman was my children's other mother and we honored her by having her stand as their godmother in our church. A confirmed Catholic man, a Presbyterian woman who was raised in an Unitarian Universalist congregation, and a Baptist woman held a ceremony in a Methodist church. It boggles the mind how these special, wonderful souls raise our kids outside our sight and do the work that they do to make our children's lives special no matter who sees it. We've since moved, but I miss and love that woman who raised my kids when we had to go to work and would certainly give her a HUGE hug if she just randomly walked through the door. PS - Typing this made me ugly cry and I have to go teach in 10 minutes, wish me luck.

I love that it started with her being like EVERY MOM: tired, maybe a bit bored, but doing the things. And the ABSOLUTE SECOND one of those babies did something or needed something, she reacted with such joy.

I'm a mom of 2, and her demeanor at the beginning is so so so real. We've all been there. Being tired and bored doesn't mean you don't care. HEr reaction to this baby just shows that caring for children is HARD WORK, but a moment of boredom dont mean you don't care or love them any less.

I am so happy to have seen this. I have been really looking at the positive things humans do, and seeing her so lit up and happy made me smile. I wish this woman all the good things in life. We need more caretakers who truly enjoy taking care of children.
