I hope when I am old and alone, at least one neighbor will extend some kindness towards me. I don't want to be sitting alone every night just waiting to die.

As a yard guy my whole clientele revolves around old lonely widows. One in particular always invited me for soda and snacks and we’d hang out for 20 mins and watch the cars go by. It’s always a heart breaker when I finish up the lawn and no one comes out. Usually the neighbors inform they passed

The one good thing about the Internet is it's easy to find groups of people with similar interest to you. I think future elderly people will have a lot easier of time socializing than previous generations

I agree with your comment. I recently saw a post on my nextdoor app, I can't remember it word for word, but it was basically "im an old person looking to hang out with other old people, will be at X location at X time." I saw a bunch of comments of people saying they'd like to come join or some younger members saying they were going to bring their parents for the get-together. I hope they all had a blast and made some new friends.
