"Chris Pratt does the simplest favor ever"

If this is the bar for men, then we, men, are doomed

u/ManitouWakinyan Mar 05 '25

It's not a bar, it's just a nice thing. Nice things are nice. Be less this.

33

u/casseroled Mar 06 '25

Right? Can we just enjoy things sometimes. I say this as a woman. It’s nice to see people be nice to each other! Most content online is overwhelmingly negative.

-2

u/Aranthos-Faroth Mar 06 '25

Try less.

-2

u/ManitouWakinyan Mar 06 '25

Do or do not, there is no try

-1

u/Aranthos-Faroth Mar 06 '25

Do less.

1

u/ManitouWakinyan Mar 06 '25

It's a comment, it's hard to do a lot less than that

-1

u/Aranthos-Faroth Mar 06 '25

We return to try.

1

u/ManitouWakinyan Mar 06 '25

I'll be honest I don't really know what you want

1

u/Aranthos-Faroth Mar 06 '25

Me too bud... me too...

u/underboobfunk Mar 05 '25

Doing an extremely simple favor while on camera isn’t nice, it’s just being human. Refusing that simple favor when directly asked would be considered complete dickish behavior. Not being a dick isn’t “nice”, it’s just not being a dick.

The bar is in hell.

44

u/ManitouWakinyan Mar 05 '25

Being a human is nice. Nice things are nice. There is no bar. We are allowed to be happy when people aren't dicks.

32

u/BlackBlizzNerd Mar 05 '25

You can’t be nice while on camera? What a fucking moronic comment.

Of course it’s not some massively insane thing he did. But on or off camera, it was nice of him. Jesus.

20

u/Big-ol-Cheesecake Mar 05 '25

We can also reinforce good behavior instead of fueling a culture war 😄

9

u/Annual-Appearance536 Mar 05 '25

only on reddit can you hate on someone helping, Also the camera is the reason for this moment, if there were 0 camera's this wouldn't need to happen she could just walk out.

u/PN4HIRE Mar 05 '25

Well bro. The utter lack of gentle behavior that i see from dudes everyday scares the hell out of me.

So, I will celebrate Men acting like the Men that raised me.

95

u/RickyRubiOops Mar 05 '25

“Dude does a nice thing”

Reddit- “UGHHH MEN SUCK”

u/gatsome Mar 06 '25

No, they’re a fine bunch of gals there. You’re thinking of r/TwoXChromosomes

1

u/Future_Union_965 29d ago

Facts. TwoX is crazy land. Witches are friendly as long as your friendly.

12

u/Thedirtyaccount01 Mar 05 '25

You can just be silent or appreciative. You don't need to be full send bleeding heart every second of the day bro. It's a nice thing. That's all.

24

u/WahCrybaberson Mar 05 '25

I mean, as a 44M I had no idea that this was even a dilemma women face. So yeah, the ability to read her discomfort and help out is pretty considerate.

1

u/caylem00 Mar 06 '25

You'd have a similar situation with loose/  short shorts or something and flashing someone as you stood.

But the cultural connotations of seeing a woman's panties vs a man's jocks/boxers is vastly different.

0

u/TwoBionicknees Mar 06 '25

She asked him to stand in front of her, could you really not get from a woman asking you to stand in front of her that she would want you to stand in front of her?

LIke he could have stood in front of her and literally not had a clue why she wanted him to do that and it would still work. But also pretty easy to figure out why.

16

u/Maverick732 Mar 05 '25

Imagine saying you thought a woman was obligated to take action because of a man's choice of clothing.

14

u/itssosalty Mar 05 '25

I knew the comments were going to be filled with hate from political beliefs.

This was a clip in r/MadeMeSmile it’s not calling for the Nobel Prize dude.

It seems like she asked him?

4

u/p_coletraine Mar 05 '25

Yea, she for sure asked him. A very rare circumstance would put any man in the proper perspective and mindset to be able to recognize that she doesn’t feel comfortable just standing up. Unless we’re talking about a couple that has certain queues for body language or eye contact and gestures or something.

1

u/TwoBionicknees Mar 06 '25

This is some absolutely bad shit crazy stupid shit. She asks you to stand in front of her, it's a request that is so complex and difficult you must have a full understanding of women and have watched the vagina monologues before youc an take up the difficult task of.... standing in front of someone else.

He coudl stand in front of her without even realising why she wanted him to do so and his lack of understanding would not have made him transparent.

She could also have said "hey dude, I don't want the audience seeing my vajajay, could you stand in front of me".

14

u/Crystal_Voiden Mar 05 '25

It has nothing to do with being "smart" it's about paying attention, being empathetic, and quick on your feet

15

u/Efficient_Cause_6900 Mar 05 '25

I think you're overestimating men, especially American men. I say this as an American man. You and I might value chivalry(for a lack of a better term), but I find that type of attitude less common than when I was younger.

-12

u/MrManballs Mar 05 '25

Except for you though? You’re one of the good ones?

4

u/Educational_Rope1834 Mar 05 '25

Are you incapable of recognizing when you perform better than others in certain areas? It's like when someone claims they're funny, smart or handsome. People like you go ballistic thinking someone can't recognize their position amongst peers.

-5

u/MrManballs Mar 05 '25

Lmao. Sure bro. Mr Funny Smart And Handsome, the chivalrous Redditor.

M’Lady, might I gaze upon thy breasts? Thou aren’t as good as my Anime Waifu’s, but enjoy them, I shall! Do you watch MLP, M’Lady?

1

u/Educational_Rope1834 Mar 06 '25

God you're so awkward bud.

4

u/Nonikwe Mar 06 '25

Man does nice thing

"Argh, this is something I'm going to get annoyed about for no good reason arghhh!"

3

u/JustInCaseSpace420 Mar 05 '25

I’m always curious what it’s like to be so spiteful and useless in life - enlighten me

3

u/sos123p9 Mar 05 '25

Considering what he said about his ex wife and how he treated her i would say chris still doesnt quite meet the bar here.

1

u/Mysticalnarbwhal2 Mar 05 '25

So we shouldn't praise people for performing their societal expectations? That's incredibly silly

1

u/zarbin Mar 06 '25

Chris Pratt does a lot of great things but Reddit hates them because he's a Christian conservative who works out and embodies a more traditional masculinity.

1

u/NoobToob69 Mar 06 '25

This is the same dude that cheated on his ex wife and practically abandoned her and their child??

1

u/GirlisNo1 Mar 06 '25

father plays with his own kids

Reddit: OMG what a HERO

1

u/Averagebaddad Mar 06 '25

Why? Why is being a decent human man that we are doomed? How are we doomed of we just simply try to be decent? You make no sense? It's not hard, the bar truly does not need to be that high

1

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '25

No one suggested it was a complex one... It gained attention because most men aren't aware of potential female clothing mishaps like that like other women are. You don't have to be a little hater about it.

1

u/spiteful-vengeance Mar 05 '25

I'm wondering why she doesn't just wear functional clothing.

1

u/TheFoxer1 Mar 05 '25

Nope. I refuse to be declared as doomed because some other guy either does or or does not do anything some internet stranger consider a bar to clear or whatever.

I‘ll also refuse to believe I am obligated towards women just because I am a man.

Get out of here with your sexist views.

0

u/Pretend-Feedback-546 Mar 05 '25

I think it's more the instinct and situational awareness that sets it apart. Not many men specifically would think about this more than likely.

3

u/sa_ra_h86 Mar 05 '25

It looks like she specifically asked him to in the video... He didn't need to think to do it.

3

u/Pretend-Feedback-546 Mar 05 '25

Ohhhhh okay yeah nothing remarkable then lol

0

u/therealhlmencken Mar 06 '25

Jesus Christ the Sooners here. Someone did a nice thing in a hectic scenario where they may not be expected to or recognize the opportunity. It’s ok

-8

u/chrisp909 Mar 05 '25 edited Mar 06 '25

It's not like he had his back to her, though. He could have been just moving in for the closest look possible. Then everyone's all "what a gentleman."

Edit: fuck Chris Pratt

4

u/um_like_whatever Mar 05 '25

Kind of hard for him to see up her skirt standing in front of her...

-1

u/sewilde Mar 05 '25

...after being asked to. The alternative is what?

-1

u/Mingo_laf Mar 05 '25

I guess you have the ability to read minds… but can’t figure out that this is staged lol she looks at him then he gets up to walk in front of her almost like … it’s staged
