Then make it her choice and not something you impose. Simple as that. Often times the threat of retaliation by a community gives the illusion of choice with the threat of ostrization.
I can have opinions about other peoples lives. It’s not like I’m pushing to pass legislation to make their way of life illegal. My opinion doesn’t affect them at all.
Some views and opinions have no place in society. There was also a man in Germany in the 1940's who had a different belief than a lot of the world. It wasn't ok. Or people who thought slavery was OK. It's not OK for people to think like that then and it's not OK now.
Telling women they can't persue their own life and goals because their job is to live in the kitchen and raise babies is some disgusting shit that is not ok. Sure it's not pro nazi or slavery. But it's still wrong.
There are millions of the same people discussing a few select opinions and they almost all skew the same way. If you’re being honest you know Reddit leans left politically, athiest religiously and progressive socially
Of course there’s a culture to a social media site or at the very least the sub sites within it which the OP would be basing their opinion off of.
That doesn’t change the fact that people can have different opinions about something, especially as benign as their feelings towards a celebrity…. Especially if the opinion of some is based off of very specific items of their personal life that the majority of people may not even know about, much less be something to change their opinion of someone who’s job is unrelated to that trivia.
What am I missing here outside of him being part of a church that has fundamentalist views? Like what has he actually said or done that qualifies him as a nut job?
I’m genuinely asking not defending him. I had no idea Reddit hated him until I saw this thread
People on the left have the tendency to attack Chris Pratt because this church he went to was found guilty for having a homophobic environment. Obviously that should be addressed and the church called out, but there's no evidence that Chris Pratt was part of the making that environment just because he went there to pray and was respected by people there and hence returned the respect.
Also, the church they consistently claim he’s a member of is an institution he went to once and decided was not the right fit for him. Even the leader of that church went on record that he is not a member. But people don’t want the truth.
Why don't you go ahead and qualify the potentially harmful moral positions of an atheist and enlighten us. Because with fundies, on the other hand, there is a laundry list. Eat shit.
It's adorable that you're trying to avert the implications of your comment by trying to make it seem complex or like I missed something. You got triggered over a shit heel fundamentalist celebrity getting insulted by a random on the internet and decided to white knight for Chris Pratt by demeaning the commenter and atheism. And you're definitely right calling me boss.
Oh I get it! Your point is that you are trying to use the critical thinking skills of a 6 year old to lash out. I agree, you guys are both doing a great job of proving that.
If we include "spending money on political parties" a kind of "speech" as SCOTUS does, then his "speech" is to support a bunch of far right projects like making abortion unsafe and illegal, anti-LGBT, and other Christian White Nationalist type stuff.
I didn't know who he was back in 2014~15. I was coming back from New Zealand, I hadn't slept in 3 or 4 days.
I get stopped going through TSA. I think it air crew, ok alls good. It was not air crew, it was some random ass white guy who I'd never seen before. Unfortunately, I did the white lady blow up. Because who the fuck is cream, i also hadn't slept in 3 days and was 20.
Well my now ex informed me this was Chris Pratt. So in my lack of sleep and rage, I have a name. So i yell "Go fuck yourself Chris Pratt!" . As loud as I could in LAX, multiple times. My poor boyfriend at the time loved Parks and Rec. He wanted to find a hole to hide in.
