Wholesome, as willing participants. 🙂

Must have been some upset people. 🤣

827

u/wH4tEveR250 14d ago

Ya. Where is the reaction compilation of people who got upset?

1.0k

u/Exotic_Zucchini9311 14d ago

I doubt most of them are like that. These people know what this guy does and willingly pay him for such a thing. I don't think much of them react total negative.

496

u/MalikVonLuzon 14d ago

Plus, in some of these clips you can clearly see he's put up examples of his past work, so they know what they can expect

200

u/lilbelleandsebastian 14d ago

this artist also just seems to exaggerate features that aren't actually that prominent - so it still makes you look like a funhouse mirror version of yourself, but it's probably not going to hit on any deep insecurities

seemed like he did a fair job making the pictures funny without being mean

34

u/ChrisDornerFanCorn3r 14d ago

It looks like a fair job for sure

😎

10

u/afraid_of_animals 14d ago

But, this is so much better than taking home a sick goldfish. Money well spent.

102

u/AverageDysfunction 14d ago

They also have so little to do with reality it would be hard to hit a nerve. They’re just silly

45

u/LanceFree 14d ago

I can imagine couples where one person wants to do it, the other is disconnected but goes along with it, then doesn’t like the results.

35

u/Corporation_tshirt 14d ago

The secret to great charicature is that there has to be a certain degree of recognition. If you look at the pictures, you can see for example that he incorporates each person’s most distinct feature and exaggerates everything to an absurd degree. If a person identifies with the charicature, it makes it harder to hate so the joke will go over better

13

u/hellgal 14d ago

That one couple near the end, it seemed like the boyfriend was only humoring his girlfriend for the caricature and then he ended up laughing the hardest.

5

u/AFantasticClue 14d ago

I think that was the case with some of the couples where one half was extremely exaggerated and the center of the joke and the other was relatively normal, just interacting with them, like the first and last couple and the corn couple.

10

u/Purplehairpurplecar 14d ago

I know I’m fragile about my looks so I would NEVER sit down for something like this. I think there’s definitely a self-selected audience of people who can laugh at themselves like this and enjoy it.

Girl on the left in the second pair. Not happy, funny as fuck.

39

u/Spare-Willingness563 14d ago

No she's just accepting she's been roasted and there's zero rebuttal.

171

u/Mindelan 14d ago

I actually think she liked it, but is playing up being 'mad' as a joke because she knew it would be funnier. Her expression after she says 'we're going home' is very much someone who is taking the piss.

106

u/Drow_Femboy 14d ago

Honestly I think she hates it but in a "clearly knew what I was signing up for" kind of way, like she was maybe hoping he wouldn't be able to make her look as hideous as everybody else but was proven wrong. She's being a good sport but I definitely think she had to process for a few seconds before she could muster that

15

u/ActualSimulation 14d ago

That's how I read it too.

7

u/thinkthingsareover 14d ago

I think her friends happiness also helped the situation. Like "Damn...since she likes it that much I don't wanna be a buzz kill."

u/HarnessedInHopes 14d ago

She’s joking around lol.  She definitely isn’t actually mad.

16

u/eekamuse 14d ago

As someone with that sense of humor, I know she was joking. It's dangerous, because some people take it seriously, as you can see here.

11

u/Phunwithscissors 14d ago

Yeah Angel Reese is not happy

5

u/FrostyMeasurement714 14d ago

Haha came here to say this. Looks like this girl is really tall could be her. If so she's mad haha

6

u/CryptoScamee42069 14d ago

The ostrich?

24

u/HsnHussain 14d ago

Girl on the right seems to have had an orgasm

40

u/AdmiralCodisius 14d ago

Found the guy who has never given a woman an orgasm.

17

u/HsnHussain 14d ago

You mean to say all the women in porn that i watched in last 30years while living in my parents basement have been lying

Well, with the artwork he’s got posted, ya gotta know what you’re getting into when you sit down in that chair. That said, the peoples’ reactions are great, hard not to laugh along with them

44

u/MrsAllHerShots 14d ago

my mom forced me to sit for one of these when i was 6 years old and hung the drawing on the wall in front of my door the entire time i lived with her

i hate caricatures with a passion but i’m glad everyone in the video had fun with em

15

u/MurderSheCroaked 14d ago

Friend I also had one of these done when I was young and anxious and BOY HOWDY did they exaggerate my most insecure features and I sure did hate it and was destroyed emotionally for the day 🙃

7

u/MrsAllHerShots 14d ago

shoutout to the adults in our lives that made horrible decisions while we couldn’t make them ourselves 🙏

8

I feel like you don't sit down and wait for this unless you're ready to get roasted

395

u/Cottoncloudhigh 14d ago

Absolutely. I'd never get one of these done because I'm way too insecure and have zero self esteem. Would not go well.

106

u/TheMustySeagul 14d ago

I have zero confidence in my body. I won’t even look into a mirror in my bathroom naked when I shower. But I would do this in a heartbeat because I think it would be amazing to know what someone thinks my biggest flaw is and to put it into art. It’s probably not what I think it is. I bet it’s not. And I feel like that could be really eye opening and honestly make me feel better .

83

u/borsalamino 14d ago

Features, not flaws! How can they be flaws when there’s always someone out there who digs exactly that feature?!

41

u/TheMustySeagul 14d ago

I love you trying to be helpful and positive. Body positivity is needed.

22

u/Sugus-chan 14d ago

No, like, this is literally what caricature art is. Taking the things that stand out the most and taking it to comical extremes.

If a guy has sideburns and a goatee they are not necessarily flaws because he probably loves them, but you can bet those will be major points in the drawing.

We tend to look at ourselves and be judgemental because we think those traits define us, when it's the opposite. Going bald or having uneven boobs are not flaws. Wanting to touch kids or being racist are flaws. If those people are not embarrassed to be like that, you shouldn't be embarrassed of however you look like.

8

u/zaddybabexx 14d ago

Hey, just wanted to share some advice that my husband gave me a few years ago that he got from his therapist. Look in the mirror and say 3 good things about yourself, one of them being "i love you" the rest can be literally anything, big or small. "Good job waking up to your first alarm today" "i am a good friend" "i am helpful" "good job getting the trash to the curb" "my eyes looks so bright in the morning" "i can see how much effort you're putting into yourself by doing this exercise, im proud of that"

Say these things out loud, if you can't look at yourself the whole time on day one it's OKAY! it's suppose to be hard at first and get easier over time. Its actually so hard to do and feels so silly sometimes. But the best part is you don't have to share with anyone. It's just you being a little silly with yourself every morning for a couple minutes and in time it stops feeling silly and becomes a part of your routine. You start to feel better without even realizing it.

3

u/FeynmanFool 14d ago

I’d love to just meet a caricature artist because I’m sure there’s some obvious identifying feature on my face that’s the first thing people see but I can’t think of what it is. When I don’t do my eyebrows I have a unibrow so it’s probably that most of the time but I wonder what it is with my eyebrows done. I have a cross bite that makes it look a bit like I have Bell’s palsy too so that could be it, but I’d love to just ask.

74

u/spyrenx 14d ago

And the artist probably doesn't upload the ones where the subjects break down in tears or start yelling.

34

u/ZetharRavik 14d ago

4

u/andannabegins 14d ago

Angel Reese aka one of the biggest stars of women’s college ball in recent times and now maybe the best rebounder in the WNBA. Big off the court following too.

412

u/HeckOctopus 14d ago

One of my professors in art college told the class a story about when he did caricatures. It was a couple with their baby. He drew them as he saw it. The mom was upset at how the baby looked in the drawing. The dad however said, “no, it’s right. Our baby UGLY.”

The prof said from then on, no matter how the baby looked, he always drew it with a cute button nose.

46

The second picture, the left girl's real eyes look less real than the drawing... she doesn't even blink

16

u/RoughDoughCough 14d ago

He captured her long neck and her friend’s big forehead too

67

u/johnmichael-kane 14d ago

Funny but the annoying thing is he shows us the drawing first and not the people so we can’t really compare

28

u/Kamikaze_Ninja_ 14d ago

Scrolled too far to find this. Had to scrub the whole video so I could compare the drawing.

21

u/Life-Suit1895 14d ago
