What were those rude comments? That’s a great way to celebrate a birthday

There’s a troll that just rolled out from their rock. They made it to this post too.

Definitely wild. The unhinged comments are very Reddit like. Last time someone called me the n word with a hard R for posting pics of Amsterdam.

Insanity....I'm sorry homie. The pictures are pretty and I'm sure your son had a great time!

He did! He had no idea about Hallstatt , that was a surprise to him, and it turned out being his favorite

Yes Reddit brings out all the crazy, reposting won’t eliminate that! I see it as a challenge to myself to overlook and ignore them, which helps me practice not being affected by bigger/more personal acts of rudeness in IRL. I’m more often unsuccessful than not, but getting better.

Exactly! I made the choice to delete it because the previous post had pictures with my son’s face on it

There’s nothing in this world more fulfilling to me than traveling. Always remember how much happier you are than those who bring negativity to your door. They aren’t worth your time.

Absolutely! I agree 100%

I think it's a great sign of your parenting that at 18, not only did he do a stand up job of organising this, but also that he was so happy to share the experience with you. So yeah. Well done on life.

I cant see anything wrong here! I love History too! Hallsatt is an excellent holiday choice! I hope you guys had fun!

We had an amazing time! He really did a great job navigating us through airports, train stations, and throughout the cities!

It sucks that I know exactly which post it was. Hope you both enjoy the memories. Travel is the best way to open one’s mind, so you’re doing a good thing for your son.

What were the comments? (In real life i’m not nosy, but humour me in my nosy side here)

I didn’t see the nasty comments, I just saw the pictures and the context OP provided and 2+2

Thank you. I really noticed him become more comfortable taking initiative and trusting his instinct. He was super appreciative and kept his cool even when I was stressing a lot. Most of all he really learned how important it is to respect other cultures and make an effort to be kind to others, we have so many new inside jokes now too!

From experience, Asia takes that and multiplies it by 100. Vietnam, for example, was really eye opening my first time. It made me the minority for once which was a humbling experience.

Keep up the good work!

Sorry people were rude in comments. I'm happy you had a great parent-son quality time, and Germany is a great place to go. So much history both good and bad.

5

u/ILuvDaRaiders 11h ago

Right. It was definitely a moving experience.

I know! Exactly! Like Im super grateful he’s alive and healthy and I’m still able bodied to travel. I want to make great memories with him while we still can

Why would someone be mean because of a few pretty landmark photographs?

People on the internet....

It looks like you had fun, hope you'll have plenty more such trips with your son!

Sounded like it was fun! Coming from someone that has never gotten to properly take a trip with my dad since turning 18 this is legendary! Cherish every moment you get 🙌👊

1

u/GrumpyGG64 11h ago

Perhaps not but the sentiments made me smile and the pics are nice.

u/Appropriate-Rub3534 11h ago

That is hallstat. I feed goose there hahahaha. Wasn't allowed to but goose looked hungry.

1

u/ILuvDaRaiders 11h ago

Sorry for misspelling it and adding the extra T

2

u/Appropriate-Rub3534 11h ago

You spell it right. I'm just lazy with the T. Hahaha. Great place btw. Only bought a fridge magnet, salt and a piggy bank there. Hehehe. Feeding goose was fun though.

Take notes, this is why China is amazing and the USA is a third world country

13

u/_Juicyy 11h ago

I'm taking notes on how to make stupid fucking comments, you're clearly great at it.

Don’t reduce entire countries full of diverse people to lazy stereotypes, all you're doing is making people hate China because of comments like yours.

5

u/VeaR- 11h ago

This is the weirdest China bot I have seen. As much as I despise the USA, being this cruel to a young adult for just existing is unnecessary and disgusting. Please just be a better human
