Advice Does THC/CBD Tincture use affect Hepatitis/Liver?
So I've been off the stuff for a while now and only recently been back on it. I've had a lot of bad experiences with it, but it also can be a pretty fun time. That being said I have recently been diagnosed with Acute Hepatitis and have a rare congenital heart condition called Hypoplastic-Left Heart Syndrome. The surgeries done over the course of my life have put a tremendous amount of pressure on the liver. It's very uncertain what the future looks like for me, although I don't think I'm in any critical or serious state yet, but I want to do the best I can to help it. I bought these tinctures so I can ingest it orally so its not as strong like edibles, but I also can't smoke it because I already have lung related issues. The tincture itself is 35mg of CBD for every 3 mg of THC. Last time I had it which was a couple days ago, it activated 5 hours after I used it and was quite strong, but nothing unbearable. I wonder why that happened, but the important thing is that I want to know if it's putting strain on my liver. Research says it's inconclusive but I want to know if other people have experience. Thank you.

I just wanted some help, damn; They told me that they couldn't tell me whether it was good or bad.

It seems ok at that dose. I think potential issues arise at much higher doses. Obviously, you should ask your doctor. But I’m not surprised they don’t know, I don’t think it’s been studied enough.

The source matters too, avoid sketchy gas station brands. Either a dispensary or a respected source / brand.

If I wanted to do it and have some condition like yours I would start off with. Small dose and see how I react. I don't think doctors know much on marijuana and their pharmaceutical based medicine is sorts on the other end of marijuana and holistic health nutrition and wellness. Sometimes I feel people struggle to understand doctors prescribe medication based on symptoms. Asking your doctor about life style changes and nutrition doesn't usually go far unless you have a decent doctor that's not pushing meds for a kickback profit from big pharma. Just my opinion.
Here's what ai search bar said: CBD and THC have shown potential in managing symptoms and conditions related to hepatitis. CBD oil administration at ten micromolar concentrations inhibited hepatitis C viral replication by as much as 87%. Additionally, CBD oil caused the death of cells infected with the hepatitis B virus, while not affecting healthy cells. Research also indicates that CBD and THC can bind to CB2 receptors, decreasing symptom severity and providing an anti-inflammatory effect on the liver. While medical cannabis does not treat hepatitis C directly, it can be taken alongside prescribed pharmaceutical medications to help the body relax and heal, and to elevate mood.

Tinctures are great, but take time to get used to. You're supposed to hold it under your tongue for a couple of minutes and swallow whatever is left. Just swallowing it will be like a very strong edible. It does take longer to kick in for me also. Anyway, it won't hurt your liver. I actually had liver failure from drinking, in 2020. I quit drinking and decided to try medical marijuana. The last time they ran my liver numbers, they said that they couldn't believe how much it recovered. They said that the numbers were "amazing".

Opinions are great. Especially when they come from your doctor. Ask there, not here. From a friend who also has a liver disease.

Genetic End Stage Liver Disease and transplant survivor who gets his lab work done every two weeks here. I use a lot of THC and CBD distillate, along with CBN, CBG, etc. my labs actually got better when I started consuming again back in late summer. My only issue that I run into is that I still need a lot more than normal people, don't know if that's my body or one of the meds.
