Question What, in your opinion, is the single best, ongoing Cultivation webnovel at the moment?
You can put your short list in, you can describe your rationale but no matter what you have to narrow it down to a single series in the end.

since everyone already throw in RTOC into the ring, let me do another;
my longevity simulation.
author was inspired by LOTM, so he's doing as best as he can to blow our minds with the plot twist reveal on a lot of mystery elements. and I can say with absolute certainty that he's successful with how intricate the world's are. character doesn't become obsolete each regression, instead they played a part or become more important.

I just hate the MC treat his father. Old man is the best depiction of a paternal figure ever in novel only to be fucked over by his ungrateful son (Once his son crippled his cultivation and asked him to stop cultivating the old man followed that command until his death bed without even hating his son)

This junior has found the hopium.

Junior you made a mistake there. The pill that junior is taking is known as copium not hopium. Given their similar structure I understand your confusion.

I have recommended it many times but definitely beyond the timescape, every arc seems better than the last and so far has been really amazing

Have to say I agree that every arc seems better except the current one because there's no Captain in it.

Unsheathed

Yep Unsheathed/Jian Lai is awesome. It goes so far beyond the depth of a typical webnovel, with set ups and callbacks that span hundreds of chapters.

Other than my own? Hmmm..
Reverend Insanity can't really be considered ongoing right now.
I'd throw Regressor's Tale or Cultivation into this arena.
Most of my other big recommends are not "ongoing".

It's good, but slow af... it has been going for 7 years and still hasnt crossed 400 chapters.
And it's not even "peak." I mean, yeah, it's way better than the average, but it's not something that i could wait a week for... the reason I dont read manhwa now is this as well, 30-40 chapters worth of content then you wait a week...

Mirror Legacy
No singular MC, clan building, POV characters die/fail/face setbacks, etc

Journey of the fate destroying emperor
[My Review] : After reading 1300 chapters~
Pros : 1. Very fleshed out character each with their own ambitions, goals, ideas
Very rich world building, it doesn’t get shoved into your face, and it’s mentioned enough time that you don’t forget it.
Very deep history and lore which affects past future and present
Great power system, infact it’s so detailed that you will end up skimming them. Unless you are into them.
Great, and I mean really great fights. You will see how the concepts/daos they learn are used in fights.
No young matter slapping and their ancestors challenging the mc who goes full mu*derhobo on them
Mc is very intelligent, scheming, ruthless, and can do whatever is needed.
No sm*t and no harem, and the pro is there is a power couple no saving the damsel in distress or stopping the engagement with the evil young master here.
Cons : it’s fight are usually overstretched, like 4 ch+ on side characters you don’t care about. lol

How is the novel compared to manhua, in manhua there is almost no action and depiction of battles are really sloppy
2
u/CyberNinja2 1d ago
lol I was talking about the novel, not the manhua. It in wuxiaworld. Webnovel only has the manhua.

u/lastchanceforachange Young Master Dipshit 1d ago
I know that is why i asked how is the novel compared to manga
2
u/CyberNinja2 1d ago
Sorry, I misread your comment lol. I'm not sure how the novel is compared to the manhua, but I did see some posts that the manhua was good. https://www.reddit.com/r/Manhua/s/twkH0nt8RH But other then that I don't know since I only read the first two chapter just to check it out. The only thing I notice was that some of the names for objects were different.

u/lastchanceforachange Young Master Dipshit 1d ago
I started due to that post unfortunately I am disappointed. Story is good but it's graphics suck and action scenes are rare and lousy so it becomes monotonous really fast but I recon its novel must be way better since it has reach lore and intriguing storyline
2
u/CyberNinja2 1d ago
Yeah, I'm most definitely sure that the novel is better. There are a lot of fight scenes in the novel.

u/lastchanceforachange Young Master Dipshit 1d ago
Not hundred percent sure but Shadow Slave is a powerful contender in my eyes. It is not power fantasy and its characters are acting like humans with brains and emotions.

u/Savage_Sandvich 1d ago
Its got too unique a power system to be cultivation
1
u/lastchanceforachange Young Master Dipshit 1d ago
Well you are not wrong but they still have phases very similar/almost same as qi condensation, foundation building, core formation and even nascent soul only difference is not just mc but everybody is forced in a one giant cheat system and we saw in some chapters there are cultivation ways independent from the system and probably will see how/why system is created in first place. While not call it xianxia, it is still cultivation logic in my eyes.

Nine star hegemon body art. Since the moment Long Chen ascended to the divine world the novel has become even better.
