Every time I try to create a new subreddit community I get this error message "There was a problem creating the community. Please try again later." Please help

Did I hit my limit? I have made a total of 26 subreddits over the years. Is the system preventing me from making any more because I've hit a limit? Reddit doesn't say anywhere that there is a limit of how many you can create. Just not more than 3 per day.

Are you a moderator of those 26 subreddits still? There IS a limit to the amount of subreddits that you can moderate. I don’t recall the exact number, but I do know there is a limit. When you create a subreddit, you become the moderator. If you are at your moderation limit, it would prevent you from creating a new subreddit.

For some of my subreddits if I give mod status to another account and relinquish mod status with this one, will I be allowed to create new sub with this one?

The instant you make the subreddit you become a moderator of that subreddit. If your account is at the moderation limit, you won’t be able to make a new subreddit. If you’re going to moderate the subreddit from a different Reddit account, then use that account to create the subreddit.

Yes I understand that. I will do that if I must.
I just want to know about if I appoint another account as the mod of a sub, and then leave that sub on this account. Will this account then be eligible to create a new sub?

If the mod limit is indeed the issue that is preventing you from creating a subreddit on this account, then yes. You can mod your alt account and then leave the mod team on this account to put yourself under the limit, then create a new subreddit from this account. If that doesn’t fix the issue for you, then you were not at the moderation limit and there is something else preventing you from creating the subreddit.

We don't know if there is a limit at all or what it might be. I've seen people with a hundred or more communities on their list of Mod-doms.

Maybe it's a number of communities over a short time. Or maybe your problem is entirely unrelated to this matter.
