It was hella fun sparring him, it’s crazy knowing he could’ve murdered me if he wanted to tho haha

I was so lucky to get to spar him

That switch into kick feint into elbow which he spares you with and then proceeds to lightly kick you in the face. Goddamn savage 😅

Hagerty looks like he knew everything you were going throw. Sometimes even before you did. Great vid. That's a keepsake for the grandkids some day. Thanks for sharing.

He read me like an open book but it’s expected ofc it’s J Haggerty haha. Deffo gonna hold onto this vid forever

You did great! You showed your skill without spazzing out against a better opponent. Haggerty clearly enjoyed the spar and seems like you did too!

Thank you so much, it was a great spar but I just wish I wasn’t so flinchy against his shots and showed better defence

If you've seen the man fight you're gonna flinch lol

Mans an absolute destroyer

Fair play man, that'll live long in the memory

Don’t even man, you did great!

He's inside the matrix

Sparring against someone way stronger and bigger is so fun. Reminds me of being a child play fighting with older relatives.

Was Freddie there?

6

u/lil_boy18 1d ago

What’s the difference between them?

31

u/lil_boy18 1d ago

Honestly I couldn’t tell you, they are both way too good for me to notice the difference at my level and it was a very friendly spar so it’s also hard to actually see a difference between them.

Freddie was in the spar next to OP

1

u/SecretarySuper6810 1d ago

Didn’t even notice that, good for them both to be out together

That spinning kick? Did it land as hard as it looked?

7

u/lil_boy18 1d ago

Nah I didn’t rlly feel it tbh, just pushed me back, looking back at it I’m surprised I wasn’t winded or anything from it. I don’t think he followed through on it with the ball of his foot.

What an experience though bro. Things like this never happen in my country. Bros a legend in the making

6

u/lil_boy18 1d ago

Haha thank you, being from London does come with its pros I suppose. I also have a vid of Haggerty teeping me in a demonstration, he sent me flying.

3

u/No-Bet8634 1d ago

I’m next door in Ireland and they never visit. Anything game-changing he thought you when teeping?

4

u/lil_boy18 1d ago

He helped me understand how to do spinning moves and elbows, not rlly related to the teep but what I know now is I need to be hip to hip for a spinning elbow which I didn’t know before hand. With the teeps it was the same advice my coach tells me so nothing game changing there, actually haggerty is a fan of the teeps to the solar plexus whilst my coach prefers using the teep to the hip/ waistline. He also taught me some cool combos alot of which were teep oriented which I found useful since I abuse my teep quite alot and it also involved switching stances alot to southpaw through bouncing off the opponent after u hit them if that makes sense. So let’s say I teep with my left my foot will return to a south paw position then I would fake the teep again and land hip to hip for a spinning elbow.

That’s so amazing !!! Great job on your part. Looks like he got to show off a bit too which is awesome

1

u/lil_boy18 1d ago

Thanks, he deffo showed off with those spinning moves he did on me haha

2

u/ManchesterMuayThai 1d ago

Looks like a fun spar, nice one

u/Holytittie 23h ago

Man haggerty is so controlled, I was worried when he threw his teeps, he has menacing teeps

2

u/Bonneville555 20h ago

Copy the way he parrys your teeps.

2

u/Haunting-Working5463 18h ago

How did this come about? So incredible!!!🏆❤️

3

u/lil_boy18 18h ago

Kcl university hosted a haggerty training seminar and so I bought a ticket with two of my other friends and at the end he picked some people to spar and I got lucky enough to get picked. P.S after I took photos with him and his belts and he said he recognised me from somewhere which was pretty cool.

Wow! What an incredible experience!! I trained with WBC Muay Thai champion and Glory tournament champion Joe Schilling for years at his gym, we were the same size roughly so from amateur to professional I got to spar with him and it is absolutely incredible when you really realize what level a professional championship fighter is on. The best ones, like Haggerty and Schilling will challenge you but there is always the underlying knowledge that you are sparring with a lion. They turn up the heat just for a second and it’s immediately obvious that they could end you 🤣 I love it though. Made me such a better amateur!

Respect bro 🙏 bet it was a great experience and learning opportunity!

This is the definition of flow sparring. So fun and useful

1

u/lil_boy18 1d ago

Yhh it was fun but I deffo wasn’t in flowstate😅🤣

1

u/False_Clothes4420 1d ago

Damn he moves around like he's weightless

2

u/lil_boy18 1d ago

He also has insane flexibility to do those headkicks on me so controlled

1

u/Content-Fee-8856 1d ago

any way to rotate the video? I'm currently holding my laptop sideways to watch this :D

1

u/StormyRadish45 14h ago

What's crazy to me is how much of a presence he has and he lost to superlek I think, and how easy he's taking it on you. I could only imagine fighting one of those guys fr

1

u/bigwoo902 13h ago

Hey thats awesome bro, never lose this video!!

1

u/Reatomico 8h ago

Looks fun!!!!

1

u/TwoCharacters 1d ago

Everyone here must have a 90 degree bend in their neck to completely ignore how you posted the video sideways.

1

u/lil_boy18 1d ago

Haha it wouldn’t let me turn it to be normal

1

u/Inthogen 1d ago

Came here looking for his. My thought exactly. Not sure why post any vertical video in the first place.

1

u/Wolfandweapon 22h ago

Hold your phone to the side?

1

u/aseb_web456 1d ago

Both of you looked composed there. Really cool!

1

u/lil_boy18 1d ago

Thankss

u/Longjumping_Yak_9555 1d ago

Me tryna watch this

-16

u/gantonic 1d ago

Wouldn't call that sparing, homie is going 5% with you.

17

u/lil_boy18 1d ago

I wouldn’t call it sparing either, I’d call it Sparring.

8

u/LeAlthos 1d ago

yeah bro, that's called light sparring
