No. Manning the gate is a small part of SF. Usually, brand new troops man the gates and pull flightline security. Once you've been in a few years, you're typically competent enough to be a patrolman and do Law Enforcement functions. Around that same time, some can become BDOC controllers who are the ones that run the day to day operations of all security and Law Enforcement functions. Most likely, that was her role, and as such had to know all functions of security forces.
Regardless, tech school for Security Forces teaches the basics of all of those functions before you even get assigned to a base. She 100% knew better.

Exactly! She was AF Security Forces. They are trained to be the base police as well as security. She 100% should have known better and did it anyway.
