Yes, you are racist. You literally just called people of Asian descent "light yellow people." Like what?
And no, the disease did not come from eating bats, nor is eating bat a "cultural choice." The fuck? You sound like the same person that makes dog eating jokes. Fuck out of here with your racist bullshit.
You don't need to be going around assaulting people to have problematic racist beliefs. You've already said plenty of microaggressions already. Just stop.
Yes, calling Asian Americans "yellow people" and claiming that they all eat bats and other animals is at the very least a microaggression, if not full-on racism. I find RG3's tweet inappropriate and in poor taste, but your comments have been outright racist.
Is it really that hard to at least try to keep an open mind and understand why these views are problematic? You said earlier that you're "just trying to educate" yourself on other people's perspectives, but have you actually tried to do that?
No, eating bats is not common in East Asia. Neither is eating dogs. Do you not see why these jokes are problematic or racist? They poke fun at Asian people and play on the stereotype that Asian people eat "exotic" food and "weird" meats. Do you not see how Asian people are portrayed in media? In cartoons, they're made to have squinty eyes. They're always given accents or "exotic" outfits. They're made out to eat "weird" food. They're given "exotic" names. They're always portrayed as nerds or martial artists. They're made to be the side character or the background comedic relief. These stereotypes are wrong and lead to prejudiced views. Stop being so close-minded.
Well, first of all, I'm not Asian, but okay. You can continue being a racist, close-minded person all you want. It's very evident that despite saying you want to understand other perspectives, you really don't care to change.
Bye, Felicia. And no, this isn't just xenophobia. This is racism, and it's directed at actual Americans. Implying that Asian people are all foreigners is racist. :)
I didn't say anything about that, I said it's not confirmed a bat was eaten. This is in response to the tweet in the OP post that says someone ate an undercooked bat. Real swell reading comprehension you've got there my friend.
I have it figured out just fine. You weren’t replying to the whole thread or the tweet, you said “it wasn’t a bat” in response to someone saying it’s been confirmed to come from the Wuahan market. In your original statement (saying it wasn’t a bat) you never said anything about it being eaten, you just focused on it “not being a bat,” when in fact it was a bat. Whether it was actually eaten or came from a live bat being sold for the purpose of being eaten is an entirely different argument, but not the one you were making.
This does not specify it was a bat. If it was a bat they would have specified it. If you're not arguing in bad faith you should also know the Pangolin theory which really can't just be ruled out by some random dude on the internet.
