How much am I looking to spend on food/merchandise at Darlington Speedway for a teenager and a toddler?

Looking at the Darlington website... you can bring a soft sided cooler less than 14x14x14 so you can buy everything from the store and make it at home and spend minimal compared to track food. No glass

This. I bring a few flavored sparkling waters, a pair of roast beef and swiss sandwiches, and some gummie snakes to eat during the race. Less than $20 total. Even when I'd drink at the track, if you byob it was significantly less expensive.

I mean, if you’re buying at the track. Expect to pay about $20.00 per meal, sometimes higher. I’ve never been to Darlington however, but the ones I’ve been to, I’ve spent between $20.00 and $24.00 on meals, and that was the cheaper options

Merchandise is a little on the pricey side, adult size shirts going for 35-40 now, but you might find deals here and there. There's also the gypsy tents which will be near the track, probably some cheaper options there

You can spend between $7-$12 on a single item at the concession stands and shirts cost between $30-$40. Small diecasts cost $10 and big diecasts cost between $75-$100.

Even though the race is sponsored by cookout, the chicken fingers at the track suck

Bring your own food, nachos are pretty good but expensive

Your toddler, unless really into racing, will be miserable . I consider Darlington to be one of the small track infields and merchandise areas they race at. It's still a lot of walking. Have a great time.

Please Please Please bring hearing protection for the toddler. I see so many parents with their kids with no ear protection.

Tinnitus is no joke. Don't do that to your kids.

Yeah it’s bad enough when you don’t see adults wearing ear protection and even WORSE when they don’t have their kids wearing it.

That's a definite. We do the same for monster trucks. No rookie parenting moves here. Even plan to leave one he's had enough. Not going to torture him.

Toddlers really don’t belong at races for many reasons.

Yeah, as a parent of a toddler, I don’t understand how anyone in that party would be able to enjoy themselves. I don’t plan on taking my son to a race until he’s about 5.

I have ear protection for everyone, and I only plan to stay as long as he is engaged (1/3 of the race, 1 hour tops). It was his idea, so there is buy-in at the minimum.

Be ready to leave early. Toddler will be lucky to last the first stage.

I expect this.

Eat big before and bring snacks. Do they allow a cooler?

Yes. A 14x14 soft side cooler is allowed.

Cards only and drinks are about 5 to 8 bucks a piece and the food is pretty expensive. I always bring a cooler with sandwiches and chips for my family. Has to be soft sided but it saves A TON of money. I have a titan backpack cooler from Walmart and it works great for the race, I also have someone else carrying a small backpack full of snacks.

Also, shirts are anywhere from 30 to 40 bucks and hats can go around 40. There is usually tents set up across from the track near the front office that's like a small flea market and it's usually got some cool stuff.

I don’t know about yall, but for the last 15 years I can’t even open my front door without spending $100. To I would budget at least that much.

stop off at Buccees and load up your cooler prior to arriving.
