Nail Art I’ve never held my breath for this long lol
The blue smudged a bit, didn’t notice until after curing them :-))) well, practice makes perfect as they say 😛

Love them! Question- what technique do you use to make the tear drop shaped petals? I can never seem to get it right.

u/denkan_fuck Feb 06 '25
Thank you!! I’ve tried to do them with a dotting tool, but I’ve found it easier to use a long thin brush, dipping the very end in the polish and just drag it

I’d love to see how many bristles you have on the brush you’re using! I remember cutting my paintbrush down to 3 hairs for an art project back in the day, and I still couldn’t paint lines as fine as the X at the base of the nail in pic 3. You have very steady hands!

I’ve cut a brush of mine too. There’s a few more hairs on mine, and the brush itself is quite long. I couldn’t do fine lines before, but as you go you’ll figure out the best method to use!

Have you tried with a dotting tool?

u/WiscoMama3 Feb 06 '25
I’ve tried but I think I’m afraid to get too much paint on so it just never looks flawless

I’m considering starting to do press-ons like this, but i have no clue where to start and what it entails! Could you share what products/equipment you used? Also these are GORGEOUS. UGH.

Not the OP but I just started making my own too!
Blank press on nail tips: I've been using BTArtbox extra short almond
Adhesive: I like adhesive nail stickers instead of glue. I've also been using BTArtbox for that. It doesn't last as long but it's super easy to apply, and I want to change my set out weekly anyway.
Nail stand: these are super cheap on Amazon. I recommend getting 2 full sets, because I've been enjoying painting two manicures worth at once when I've got all my supplies out anyway.
That's really all you need to get started, if you've already got a nail polish collection. I use the same lacquer I used on my regular nails, because I'm very allergic to gel. Zero chipping issues. You just need to let them dry a full day on the stands before applying them.

First of all, thank you!! ❤️ I use a Scandinavian brand for my materials, I don’t know where you’re based but the store is called Normal!
I bought the stand off SHEIN (before I quit buying from there). But Amazon has as well! I buff the nail before applying anything, a layer of builder gel, I don’t do it as thick as I would’ve if I used tips on my nails. Pretty much it! Then I just paint away 🎨
You should definitely start!! You have nothing to lose (except maybe your sanity when practicing 🥹 lol).

Oh and you did those pink ones the other day! I took a screenshot of those because I liked them so much!

u/denkan_fuck Feb 06 '25
Thank you! ❤️ yes, it was! I mixed the blue color with a lot of white to use it when sketching the design first, helped a lot!

The blue smudging only makes it look more like porcelain. The cobalt that gives the blue glaze its beautiful color tends to vaporize during firing and redeposits as that bleeding haze around the design. The nails are looking extremely realistic. I'd roll with it.

Didn’t know that! Makes me feel a bit better about the imperfections. Thank you so much!

I can't believe you hand painted these, they're some of the prettiest nails I've ever seen!

Honestly, me neither 🥹 I showed my boyfriend and was like, can you believe I just did that??? HOW???!! Truly shocked 😂
Thank you so, so much ❤️

You should seriously give zoom classes on nail painting or something. These are just so remarkable!
Haha I live for the double take from my husband when I make something cool like that.

u/denkan_fuck Feb 07 '25
One of the nicest compliments I’ve gotten 😭
Haha, same!! Mine is very supportive of my nail journey 🥺❤️

OH!! Didn’t even think of that, I have that perfume myself, I should use it as inspiration next time 😍😍

Is this a random pattern or is it inspired by blue willow glassware??? My mom is obsessed with blue willow and always has been, she would absolutely love blue willow nails
2
u/denkan_fuck Feb 07 '25
It’s inspired by those kinds of patterns! Your mama has good taste, beautiful patterns

Reminds me of our Danish porcelain from Royal Copenhagen.. Look it up, and we absolutely love the design 😍

Omg that looks amazing! And it’s match my current gel 😂 I asked my nail tech for a Sicilian lemon tile theme and the vibe matches your art perfectly!
