You need a plain white table to photo these on, they’d photograph so much better as in you can really see how they would pop on a white backdrop

u/dentalrestaurantMike 14d ago
Totally agree! A plain white background would make these pop so much more. The natural color would really stand out against white.

u/stolenbastilla 14d ago
Yes. The background and the lighting aren’t doing the nails any favors. Which is a bummer because OP is deservedly excited. The nails are cute!

I have saved so much money doing press ons, and I can change them when I’m bored. Where are these from? They are beautiful.

I love popping them off and on lol. And I made them, thank you!

That’s all I’ve been wearing myself and I find it easy to keep my nails done 24/7 and can easily switch it up.

u/nikeeeeess 15d ago
how do you keep them on??? I want to get into press ons but I need them to last a while and not pop off at the slightest bend of my finger in the wrong direction lol

u/jazzy_rocks81 15d ago
With good prep, and a solid adhesive methodology (glue, glue/tab combo, acrylic to name a few) you should be able to get weeks of wear out of your pressies.

Even these kind that are "finished"? Im sorry for not knowing all the terms, but I've seen a lot of girls put on unpainted press-ons and say you need to melt it on with acetone to seal it.

u/Burdensome_Banshee 14d ago
Weeks?! Really??? I was so excited when I got a full 24 hours without a nail popping off when I was trying to make press ons work.

LOTS of trial and error… good nail prep (filing, cuticle care), prepping the press on itself via filing and brushing a little acetone on the inside, and good glue-best I’ve found so far is “Beauty Secrets Drip & Clog Proof Nail Glue”.
For me personally the hard plastic press ons don’t stay on my nail because they’re much more curved than my natural nail, I like using really flexible ones that I can manipulate the bend of.

u/ohsuzicue 14d ago
Do you have a brand recommendation for this kind of nail? I have the same issue and I basically gave up! I didn’t know there were different kinds!
5
u/skellyclique 14d ago
You’ll want to search for the term ‘soft gel’, and they will look more like a frosted glass then a clear plastic. This is the one I bought last. If you want 6 inch claws, these are probably not the move, but if you’re ok with short to medium they work great.

You made all these sets? They're stunning! Especially love the Ghibli-inspired blue and white set :) and love how you did all the soft floral ones, I want to learn your techniques. Also happy to see someone with size 0 and 1 thumbs and similar-looking nail sizes to me <3

The ruined my nails, like RUUUUINED. I was very methodical with the removal process, but it didn't matter. I have to do bare nails for at least another 2 months before I can go back to gels.

These are awesome. What do you use for adhesive? I'm new to it and I've been hit off miss with adhesive.

How do we make sure these last? My presss ons never last more than 3-4 days MAX.

I use antegu nail glue from Shein and I get over a week/2 weeks out of them. Some times I have to soak them off.

How did you get the French white tips so perfect? Did you use some type of stencil or did you do these yourself by hand?

I love making my own press ons simply because I can pre-paint my nails and just pop them on at a later time! It’s sooo handy

I want to be in LOVE with press ons, but they're always ALWAYS way too big on my finger and idk how to make them smaller without altering anything 😭 plus I can't really make them stick longer than a day and no nail salon I've gone to knows how to apply them on my nails. Send help pls

These are great and I’m super impressed that you did them yourself. I like #4 and #8 the best. You should open a shop on Etsy!

These look amazing! You have a great eye for detail and color.
Not sure why everyone has to keep saying negative things about looking like oysters or get a different background. People in this group are unpleasant half the time from what I’ve observed. If you don’t have anything good to say why are you commenting and trying to ruin someone’s joy?

So are these ready made or did you use blanks and make them yourself? I’m looking into that cause I can’t find designs I like.
