[REQUEST] I'm out of things to watch on Netflix, help please!
I enjoy watching most comedies, provided they aren't overly mean-spirited, and I'm also a fan of well-made dramas.
Some of my favorite shows and movies include: Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, The Office, Superstore, Schitt's Creek, Lucifer, Psych, We're the Millers, I Love You, Man, The Shawshank Redemption, Bon Cop Bad Cop, The Ridiculous 6, the remake of Vacation, A Man Called Otto, Exploding Kittens, The Whole Nine Yards, Hudson Hawk, The Invention of Lying, Family Switch, and Meet the Parents.
I'm open to any recommendations you have!

Grace and Frankie, give it some time but it was amazing, Happy endings, Santa clarity diet, Dead to me or Kevin can F*ck himself

u/Obi_Kyle_Kenobi 4d ago
All great suggestions. There hasn’t been anything like Kevin can f us ever on tv as l can remember. The switches between drama and over the top classic 4 camera sitcoms are totally original and the shifts are perfectly timed imo.

That show is truly one of my favorites I’ve ever seen. And you’re right, nothing is quite like it. I didn’t like it as much the first episode but then it completely hooked me and kept twisting the plot but still kept me interested

Try "The Good Place" for a comedy with heart, or "Mindhunter" for a gripping drama.

This. One of the best shoes on Netflix. Might take a minute to figure out the accents, but consistently hilarious and thoughtful. Wonderful finale.

Survival of the Thickest. Season 2 just released. Go back and watch season 1.

One of my favorite short series is After Life, with Ricky Gervais. Just typing the name makes me want to watch it all over again.
A man can’t get over his wife’s death, until he does. Hard to explain how genius and insightful this show is. And a quick, riveting watch all the way through.

Have you seen GLOW yet? It's a pretty good mix of comedy and drama.
I haven't seen it yet, but A.P Bio is supposed to be a good series. It's got one of the actors from It's Always Sunny.
Blue Mountain State is pretty hilarious if you like jock humor.
No Hard Feelings was a pretty decent movie.
The Wrong Missy was rather charming and funny at the same time.

I have some similar tastes to you, and I loved the Never Have I Ever series, if you’ll watch a high school dramedy.
For a movie, I recommend Eurovision Song Contest. Not many people have seen it, and it’s stellar.

I Think You Should Leave and Detroiters are all I need Netflix for. Endlessly rewatchable.

Twenty Five Twenty One (coming of age dramedy featuring possibly the best fictional FL character ever!).
Mr Sunshine (an epic masterpiece set in the early 1900s about people fighting to maintain Korea's independence against Japanese colonisation. The first episode might be a little confusing with lots of characters introduced, and the timelines aren't clear, so you can Google a character relationship chart to help).

Hear me out, consider K-dramas with subtitles on. There is a big variety. The acting is awesome!

Binged all two seasons recently. It's one of the best new shows I've seen in awhile. It's one of the few drama/comedies that does both well.

First thing that came to my mind! 😃 Kim's Convenience. Looks like that's been a popular suggestion. It's great!

Most of my recs are limited series dramas or only have 1 season…
Dramas: Black Doves (6 ep), Adolescence (4eps), Baby Reindeer (7eps), Beef (10eps), Maid (10eps)
+Better Call Saul (6 seasons) if you’ve seen/liked Breaking Bad. +Chilling Adventures of Sabrina if you like CW-type teen dramas

Extra extra up vote for Beef. I usually don't like that type of show but it was really really good.

No Good Deed (darker but not mean murder comedy with a great cast you'll recognize from other stuff)
Man on the Inside (Michael Schur's post-Good Place show with Ted Danson & Stephanie Beatriz--this one is amazing)
Resident Alien (Alan Tudyk is hilarious and this show is all heart & very clever & funny)
Living with Yourself (Paul Rudd clones himself & it goes badly in a funny and sometimes sweet way)
New Girl can be a bit mean but in a Superstore type way. Community too.
Upper Middle Bogan was pretty cute. I second iZombie & The Good Place.

Upper Middle Bogan was a nice surprise and a really interesting look into (exaggerated, fictionalized) Australian life and culture. Kind of an Australian “Modern Family.”

Rectify (AMC) if you like Shawshank Redemption, then I think Rectify is up your alley.

If you like disaster type films La Palma isn’t half bad. I’m not claiming greatness but it’s absolutely watchable.

How do you run out of things to watch on Netflix? I have never ever come close to running out of things to watch on Netflix. Then again, I subscribe to it for only one or two months out of the year.
My favorite shows on Netflix include:
- Squid Game
- Stranger Things
- All Of Us Are Dead
- Alice in Borderland
- Black Mirror
- Creeped Out
- Back to 15
- Red Rose
- The Big Big Show
- School Tales

- The Good Witch
- Doc Martin
- Shakespeare and Hathaway
Enjoy

I’m with you. I am considering dropping the app. It’s full of reality tv and shows with subtitles. I watch the odd show with subtitles but you can’t multitask if you have to read the screen.

The Brothers Sun. A fantastic blend of comedy, action and drama that’s filmed like a feature film. Immensely entertaining.

In the Dark! I am hooked. About a blind hottie who is sarcastic, funny, and maybe a little mean. She becomes friends with a young drug dealer outside her apartment while she has her cigarette. She eventually stumbles across his dead body and desperately tries to find his killer!

Secret Millionaire! So good, and something I can actually watch with my kids in the room 👀. Also— if you haven’t seen New Girl, it’s one of the funniest shows I’ve watched!

Cancel Netflix, sign up for another streaming service. Watch what they have that interests you. Cancel that streaming service and pick another. What what that has to offer. Rinse, repeat.

The funniest thing I’ve seen lately was that Kraven movie. It’s suppose to be some superhero thing, buts it’s so bad it’s laughable.
