I feel sorry for those in the US and I know we’re in for some worldwide pain with this twat in power, but I wonder if there will actually be some good to come out of this - the Commonwealth/ex-Commonwealth nations pulling together to support each other, greater European solidarity, and an overall de-centering of the US as the world and economic power. Trump thinks the US is taking the elevator up, but I’m inclined to think they’ve flung themselves onto the slide down, and I wonder if that opens some opportunities for the rest of the world.

People wanted this. Trump did not became president because of some magic.

Living in Japan I’ll buy it the first day it becomes available to me, with the cheapest price too. Bless the US

Make sure to get the worldwide edition if you don't speak Japanese/want to play in english and/or also play games from regions outside of Japan. Japan has two models coming out and one of them is region and language locked but is priced (equivalent to USD) $100 less than the worldwide version.

You will feel the effects of this administration. Maybe not on your Nintendo switch purchase, but in various other ways. That money you “saved” will be spent elsewhere.

Both of us will feel the consequences. Everyone knows tariffs is a lose-lose in the short term. At least I know I’m not in trade war with the entire world.

PS5 games already retail for $125aud here so it’s not that big of a change

Yeah exactly so I don’t mind these new game prices, sure their more than switch 1 but at least they aren’t more than anything else

Same here in New Zealand. Hoping for a midnight launch as then I’ll have it at least 2 hours before you 😂

Any American that voted for him in November should not be complaining. This is exactly what they wanted. And if they didn't think this was coming, they were stupid and incapable of learning from very recent history.

It’s Karma (for about 66%, sad that some got caught in the cross fire but it can’t be helped)

I still don’t know if I can push myself to do it with the price. Does Jb let you cancel preorders?

Legally they have to.

Aussies are gonna get fucked with it too. The only consolation is that people who’ve pre-ordered already will surely have that pre-order price honoured. But the fact that their original pricing was estimating a ~20% tariff is now upended with it being ~50% means they absolutely will have to raise the price. They either raise it only in America, but they will most likely raise the price globally (but less than how much they’d need to if they only raised it in America). I expect once people have picked up their launch pre-orders, the Switch 2’s on the shelf and next wave of orders will be affected for sure
