$600?! I rather buy a better GPU or get a ps5 pro atp. At least i’ll be able to play gta 6 on it.

GPUs will also almost definitely start jumping in price.

I bought my GPU right after Trump won actually for this very reason. I wasn't in a hurry until all of a sudden I was haha.

As did I my friend. Smart

I've been trying. I built a new PC but I got laid off. was hoping to sell my old PC and 3090 for about what i'd pay for a 5090 but now ti's looking like that's not happening

At least Taiwanese chips are tariff exempt.

Not the ones already here.

The ones that are already in the US won't be subject to the import tax but if you think that means they won't get pricier really fast you are in for a surprise. Either scalpers jump on them or the suppliers increase the price to get more money to pay the tax on the next shipments which they will be paying.

They aren't going to have a "already in the US" price and "newly imported" price. They are going to get a new MSRP.

2

u/TheBossMan5000 2d ago

Lol, I'm saying he probably wants to buy a new CPU now... like one that is already on the shelf for the price that it is 🤣 that won't change much before June.

1

u/xScrubasaurus 2d ago

They will probably go up in price very soon. He might have weeks at best to pick one up before they increase, but everyone else probably has the same idea

u/Undedlvr 2d ago

My guy, all of those are imported. They're getting tariffs and will be going up in price as well

People learning first hand that politics affects *everything*

It depends on the marketplace. As long as they have hardware, which was bought pre tariffs, they can sell it for normal prices without a loss. The question is if they will raise the prices beforehand or after they receive new goods

The loss would be selling them at the old prices when they have an excuse to sell them at the new prices.

Definitely

You don’t get it! Shop owners will raise the price even if they got it before tariffs. The are earning more money and they will just say sorry we got it after tariffs kicked in.

1

u/MrCrankunity 1d ago

As I said, it depends on the shop owner. Both types of people exist.

You think those items will be exempt from the exact same thing? If you're planning on doing so you better get them quick.

2

u/GalacticDaddy005 2d ago

Everything is going up. Expect to pay closer to 1k for a ps5 pro

Good luck friend. US is officially the richest 3d world country. 🫡

As an Australian observer we’re sitting watching with popcorn with dismay.

It’s a real shame tbh that a country that can be so smart can be so unbelievably stupid.

2

u/MadCybertist 2d ago

Yeah but those will now be 30% more expensive too lol

2

u/DankRSpro 2d ago

I forgot about that 💀

2

u/RickGrimes30 2d ago

Remember that's not the real price for the rest of the world.. Your president made that happen. You guys are shitshow rightnow and I'm watching from the other side with my popcorn 😂

2

u/DankRSpro 2d ago

Can i join you on the other side then? 😂

3

u/RickGrimes30 2d ago

Any time bro!

I got a front row seat and I'm personally loving seeing my country having a full on economic collapse. If this isn't a swift kick in the nuts to get people to vote out maga I don't know what will.

Conservatives are literally saying "You just don't like it cause you're poor" after bitching about eggs for the last year. Full of copium they are.

2

u/Destiny-Smasher 2d ago

Don’t be surprised if PS5’s go up in price from all this. I hear they already have in Japan, though that was months ago.

2

u/WhichEmailWasIt 2d ago

If you think those items aren't gonna go up too ohhh boy.

2

u/hotfistdotcom 2d ago

You better buy that GPU yesterday. MSI cranked MSRP for one of their GPUs to 4k today.

2

u/wolfpack_minfig 2d ago

lol GPU and all gaming console prices gonna increase about 30-40%, there is no escaping Trump's moronic policies if you're a gamer... cut anyone who voted for him out of your life

2

u/Tchege_75 2d ago

PS5 pro Will be 1000$

2

u/BUTTES_AND_DONGUES 2d ago

Once domestic supply is exhausted, it affects them too. Your GPUs are now $1000. A ps5 pro is now over $1000.

And that’s assuming retailers don’t just jack it up early.

2

u/LongLiveTheGamer 2d ago

how much do you think the PS5 Pro will cost after tariffs?

2

u/Easy-Round1529 2d ago

Unless you buy used all that will have the same additional price tag. I’m glad I bought a pro used a few months ago. Shits going to be like 1000 soon.

2

u/Skeeter1020 2d ago

GPUs manufactured in Taiwan, where there's a new 32% tariff?

2

u/More-Ad-4503 2d ago

No chip tariff yet (there's an exclusion) but allegedly they will decide on the tariff % soon

1

u/blufin 2d ago

They'd attract tariffs as well, so they're going to be even more expensive also.

1

u/FINALFIGHTfan 2d ago

They will be effected as well by the Terrifs

1

u/Obvious_Wizard 2d ago

Oh, sweet summer child.

You don't seem to understand tariffs, like at all. Everything tech will be expensive for your foreseeable future.
