Remember when people said she would get blasted in a statewide race just weeks ago?

I mean this is a text message poll with a margin of error of 4% and they surveyed 700 people. Temper your expectations.
If she tries to primary Schumer I'll definitely vote for her, but I'm pretty sure if she tries it she's going to get absolutely smoked by ol creepy Chuck and even if she squeaks out a win there I could see us losing this seat in the general. As a NYer who likes AOC and voted for AOC and will vote for AOC again, she doesn't have a great reputation with moderates, sadly.

Moderates are why Trump keeps winning. If your party needs them to win then your party isn't worth supporting.

I mean that's a cute idea and all, but MAGAs alone don't win elections. Progressives alone don't win elections. You need independents and you need moderates.

Independents outnumber the other two parties combined.
That said, in most cases, people claim Independent status to feel private about their party affiliation or to seem open minded yet vote the same party every election.

Then why do the moderates refuse to offer progressives or independents any policy that supports them?

This is more of a progressive issue than anything else. Any time the libs offer progressives any kind of olive branch progressives do some weird purity test and say it isn't good enough, and progressives are only a reliable voting bloc when they're spitefucking someone. And I'm saying this as someone who votes for every progressive candidate I can. For example a liberal candidate might say "I support an immediate ceasefire and a free Palestine and I'll make that happen when I get elected." and progressives will say "Well fuck you, you need to shit on Israel and you need to do it RIGHT NOW or else I'll go vote for the guy who wants to turn Gaza into a strip mall!"

Cool hypothetical situation you created out of thin air.

I mean millions of progressives pulled that bullshit just a few months ago, but sure lol.

That’s not what happened. You don’t support an immediate ceasefire if you’re gifting billions of dollars in arms to one side after ignoring literal war crimes (including against American citizens) for over a year.
That’s not an “olive branch”. It’s just a lie. Biden chose Israel over his own voters. At least own it.
If you say you support a higher minimum wage, but vote against it, you in fact don’t support a higher minimum wage.
There’s also no evidence Progressives voted for Trump in any meaningful numbers. At worst the numbers show that young voters stayed home.

Former moderate here, voted trump first term thinking wed get congressional term limits. would vote for AOC in a heartbeat now. I wasn't blind to her managing to work across the aisle with Gaetz of all people on some things.

This election is 4 years away. People have the memories of gold fish. I hope it stays this way and people vote him out but it seems like the people who complain the loudest tend to not vote 😭

Gods it would be so wonderful if she was in charge, Schumer is a coward and a cuckold and does not support what his constituents want.

Schumer did a lot in the past but it's past time to get these geriatrics out of govt, on both sides, 70,80yo people aren't connecting to the majority of the country anymore

Good. The time for being moderate simply doesn't exist anymore. The Democrats need to adapt or die as a party. They're up against a political rival that has thrown all common decency and empathy to the wind and tried to install a dictator. It's high past time for the pendulum to swing the other direction.
Also, we seriously need more than two viable political parties in this country. It's really screwing us over.

Here's what I'm worried about:
AOC wins. But the rest of the DNC is still infected by the underlying problem: AIPAC/the Israeli lobby, billionaires, and corporate interests, all made possible by Citizens United.

Revolution in the Democratic party is long overdue.
