Realistically, this means my wife can't acknowledge any of her trans students. If she does, she could lose her job and/or get sued in a civil lawsuit. We are in GA, so half the kids are already red hat sycophants who wouldn't even think twice about telling their parents if my wife gives basic decency to one of her trans students. I'm so fucking done with this.

Conservatives want to make it so that even telling a trans child they are accepted would be severely punished. It's so disgusting.

Making it so that kids are afraid to tell their teachers (who should be one of their most trusted adults) about their personal issues, or even just how they should be addressed is doing the opposite of protecting kids. Taking away one opportunity that they have to talk to an adult without judgement is a lifeline, if they don't have that opportunity at home. This will hurt kids.

Well, to give him his due, he did make it easier to find the predators & abusers. He's put several in his cabinet. Don't think any of them are Trans though, so he may need to revise that document.

Lots of references to god in that executive order. Could have sworn I heard something about a separation of church and state.
Also
my message to every American child is simple: you are perfect exactly the way God made you.
While I don't believe in god, I wholeheartedly agree that I am perfect exactly as I was made: transgender. This is not an ideology. It's not a fantasy. It's a lived experience of millions of people dating back far before the religion they claim to follow began. Transgender people will continue to exist long after organised religion ceases to exist.
I sure hope someone is keeping track of all these changes, so the next sensible government can reverse them quickly, and efficiently.
