Hey everyone, I have a question about potential health hazard with my new ergonomic chair. The seat of the chair has a strong chemical smell, to be expected from a new chair so I let it air out for few hours before using it. I have been using it for a week now and the smell is not going away, whats worse is that the smell seaps through even multiple articles of clothing. After sitting for some time in the seat while covering it with a towel and having pants and underwear on, even the underwear smells after the chemicals :D. Just touching it with a hand leaves the smell on my skin, this doesn't seem normal to me. Could anyone tell me if this happens, as I wouldn't like to dip my butt in potentialy toxic chemicals :D

I'm told that Anthros 2.0 is in the works. Does anyone have any guesstimates as to when this will be released?

Does anyone have experience with both of either. I'm looking to order one tomorrow so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks much!

EDIT: realized more info might be helpful. I really like the adjustable lumbar on the c300 and the headrests on both. I appreciate the foot rests on the Newtral. I recently injured my back so this would be for leaning back to game on my raised TV, but also for work so the desk with the Newtral is also a consideration.

Just bought the leap V2 (been using a crappy staples chair for years and I've had very bad ergonomics)

I noticed that it's comfortable at first but after 30 minutes or so, I'll start getting some aching. How long will it take for my body to adjust to the new ergonomic seating?

Second question is that I'm 5'6 , 270 pounds, I have the lumbar (the one that goes up and down, not the depth) on about the 3rd ish notch from the bottom up. Does that seem right?

I got a big and tall executive chair from staples quite a while ago (10+ years). The chair is... broken (a pvc pipe holds the chair up around the cylinder, the entire chair tilts, and the fabric is gone). Unfortunately the chair broke slowly around my body, so it was "comfortable (leaning back, feet up because the tilt limit broke in it, etc).

I've tried to replace it multiple times (serta big and tall, secret lab titan (before I knew better), and now a leap 2 from Crandall.

I like the leap 2, but it feels like the lumbar import support at its highest setting is about 2 inches below where it feels comfortable. Tried removing it but thats actually worse than just having in at a low setting, but thats just a slight issue that seems to be getting better over time.

The bigger issue is that the top of the back of the seat is directly on my shoulder blades.. which pushes them forward if I set back in the chair, and it feels like im kind of forced to hunch over to sit back i the chair. I am also experiencing some soreness in my rhomboids/middle back, but cant tell if its because of the adjustment to the chair.

The other issue is I live in a place where the only option for local showrooms within a days worth of travel is office depot. I went there last night to try out chairs and tested out the various shaq big and tall chairs hoping that the combination of executive/advanced functions would work but the only 2 that fit are the nereus (way too wide for me) and the zephyrus (adjustable headrest pushes into my shoulders worse than the leap v2).

I've been sitting in the leap for about 2 1/2 weeks, but im coming up on my decision date of whether to keep or return the chair. Not sure if my body is just extremely broken from years of an awful chair for long stretches (WFH and a gamer so 10+ hours a day on avg) and will take a while to ajdust, or if the leap 2 just isnt right for me.

I need a good office chair, preference under 1000$ that would be good for a tall person (6"1), 75kg, to sit for long periods as I work from home and even stay on the computer some nights. I also would like to point that I have a bit of kyphosis (not severe but still) so I would prefer some good back with lumbar support for my extra angular back. I started with an Ikea Markus, them tried the steelcase gesture, huge difference but still would prefer with a bigger support on my lower back, also headrest is a bit too far for me to reach comfortably. I'm currently using a very old DxRacer chair that I want to get rid of. Unfortunately Herman miller seems to be extremely expensive but I want something good. Is it really that good of a chair that I should save 1500€ for? My alternative would be the secret lab Titan evo because I also have their magnus pro desk which is incredible quality in my opinion. Alternatively, is there a cheaper Herman miller chair that is better than the Titan evo? If I were to get the embody id have to save a couple more months.

I need a good chair because I'm doing home office a lot. Upgrading my desk from random ikea thing to the magnus pro is a day-night difference already but the Dxracer chair is still awful.

I’m thinking of purchasing the Zody chair and wondered about the headrest. Is it adjustable? Is it worth the price? I wanted a higher back chair, so would like to have a headrest. However looking at the pictures I’m not sure.

I know there are answers to general big and tall chairs, but I have a few issues.

I am 6'1", 300, but have no ass what so ever. I unfortunately work incredibly long hours(systems analyst) and I need a good recommendation where I won't be hurting when I get up. My lower spine and tailbone hurt with my current chair and I am fed up with it. With the no rear end issue in question, what would be best? Budget is around a grand, I just want something that I can use for years to come and to not have as many issues with my back and tailbone. If the chair is truly a gem, I can have a little flex on budget within reason(+250). Thank you in advanced.

I've been looking for a Herman Miller Aeron for my home office for some time now. However, due to the limited availability of used chairs in Denmark, the prices are quite high—ranging from €450 for a 15-year-old classic model to €1,200 for a used fully loaded remastered version.

I would prefer the remastered version, but I’m curious about more affordable alternatives that are easier to find in Denmark.

What are some good alternatives to the Aeron Remastered?
I’m currently using the IKEA Markus, which often gets praised despite its price, but I’ve been struggling with lumbar support in this chair.

Been searching for a while for the most appropriate work from home office chair for a short guy, but have been struggling. I’ve been having lower back issues lately so I’m looking for something that would help alleviate that issue as well.

Height: 5’-3” tall Weight: 155lbs. Budget: mid range $400-800 but willing to spend a little more for BIFL type chair.

I currently have Haworth Soji at work which is ok, but not spectacular by any means.

I'm the next guy who asks the most popular question here. I'm 174 cm (converter says it's 5' 9") and live in Berlin, Germany. I'm looking for something like hinomi as it's advertised. As far as I understand from this sub hinomi isn't good, so my question is - is there anything for comparable price with comparable functional traits, but with quality that is better?

I’m all torso so lumbar never hits in the right spot, and the headrest is usually a neck rest, but this thing is pretty much good in all the right spots. The wheels are sluggish to me, thinking about replacing them with something else.

I want the most comfort for about 200$. I have a semi good posture. It’s not excellent but also not horrible. I don’t really care about what comes with the chair. As long as it is height adjustable.

Purchasing this chair tomorrow for $90, all I know is that it’s a “year old Steelcase chair”. Any ID on the model?

Hello all, first post, hopefully not breaking any rules here.

Yeah so basically title. I have sat in many of chairs (gaming, office, kitchen, bar stools, etc) and I’ve never sat in one where I’m like “woah, this was really comfortable”. Obviously couch chairs and such don’t count because let’s be honest, no one is sitting down in a couch chair to do work in their desk.

Price is really not an issue. I like to think a really good chair that fit my needs pays off itself. Especially when taken care of, you could get a lot of mileage on a chair (or so I assume).

Anyways yeah I figured I can give a little bit of information about myself that could help find me a good chair. The biggest of course being that I move a lot in my seat. Doesn’t matter the chair, even couch chairs, I move A LOT. This typically ends up leading to me slouching in my chair. I also don’t like real bulky chairs. I like to stand up a lot for whatever reason and having to push a chair in and out can be annoying if it’s clunky. Lastly, I don’t really like “high tech” chairs. Basically I don’t need the chair to have built in massage stuff or like a leg lift to stretch my legs out. If I wanted to stretch my legs, I would just stand up or lay in bed.

Hopefully I have given enough information but I’m always happy to answer any questions y’all might have.

Cannot be bothered spending $3.3k on a herman miller. There's no reason why a quality chair can't be found for under $1,500.

For reference I am 5'2" and weigh around 115 lbs. I was leaning towards the Zody because I have a standing desk and like the forward tilt/perch option but I know people have said there are quality complaints with Haworth chairs and pretty much everything I've seen says the Amia is one of the most comfortable chairs out there.

Hi! I've been searching this reddit channel for so long now trying to find the right chair and suggestions but im pretty stuck. I'll give what im looking for/my specs, as well as my journey so far (as well as a TLDR lol)

TLDR: bought a Flexispot chair (lumbar too big and uncomfortable), broad frames, bigger thighed man looking for a decent ergonomic office chair within 400-600 bucks

Height: 6 foot tall

Weight: 200-240 lbs (depends on cutting/bulking season)

Budget: anywhere from $400-$600 bucks (hopefully on lower end)

Features: I am a bit bigger than average, have a thicker back and broad shoulders and some big, long thighs. I sometimes sit criss-cross but this is not the most important now as im trying to protect my hips/fix my posture. I sit for long hours, fully work from home, and also do gaming and other work at this table, so could be 8-12 hours a day sometimes easily. I enjoy a reclining chair to lay back and type or game, and would maybe prefer a headrest, but regarding footrest and headrest, I am unsure based on everything I read if I need or not (i only know I may want headrest for my longer back and to lounge back). Outside of that, i don't have many specifications and such, I just want the best chair that I can kinda buy for life.

Lumbar: This has always been a problem because i don't know how much I need, but i have a bit of a arch in my lower back naturally, so for example, the pillow that comes with a gaming chair is about the perfect size.

Prior experience:
I am currently using a relatively old (5-10 year) Respawn gaming chair that is uncomfortable, deflated, squeaky, and overall just meh.
I recently did all this research and thought a Flexispot c7 pro max chair would do me well (because I bought their desk already and figured it would be good) but the lumbar support is TOO stiff and my back arches and hurts because I have lean back for my upper back to even touch the chair, so I returned/refunded it. I couldnt even sit up straight on it and the lumbar has only TWO positions it can move to: out there and REALLY out there lol

WHERE I AM CURRENTLY:
I have been looking for more generic/more popular chairs such as the Branch ergonomic chair pro and the Steelcase Series 1, but I am so long and confused as every rating or list online is biased, wrong, has some major issues, or expensive.

I just want to get a good chair that helps my back and posture, allows me to relax and lounge a bit or lean back, and I can sit on for long periods of time.
