Hey! Long story short, I live in a three bedroom apartment. One of my roommates is disabled but can still mostly pay bills with little issue, at least during the summer. The other roommate, on the other hand, just hasn't paid. Wasn't able to collect when they started, and then I lost my job and also couldn't pay.
Anywho, now back on my feet with nearly $2000 in past due (effing wintertime, man)! Just applied for assistance and past due forgiveness. I'm making pretty good money, but for a household of three it's still not great, especially with the roommate's disability income and the other roommate maybe, just maybe, only working a few hours under the table? I can't tell, and asking has also left me unsure. Does anyone know if it really takes months for bill assistance and forgiveness? And Alternatively, does anyone know of any agencies that could help knock a chunk of this past due off? Trying to save and get the hell out of here, and if I can even just get half of this past due knocked off, I'd be able to get it paid in a few months on top of current and new electric bills.
Anyone have experience receiving the PSE assistance? I've always heard from folks I know who've received it that it usually worked in their favor, though no one mentioned how long it took to get.
Anywho, any info or anecdotes are appreciated!
