Advice needed

Post image

I have very little knowledge when it comes to plastering so just wanted some advice.

The wall in the picture was plastered 3 and a half years ago. Is a crack this big to be expected or would they not get this big?

Thanks.

Seems normal. Filler and paint.

I thought this was the “Falling man” picture from 9/11

Haha, just google me this. Might have to frame the wall instead of filling it.

That's really not unusual. Standard filler to sort it out.

I agree with the others....filler.....and someone else mentioned in another place getting a bag of structo lite for plaster walls...keep the extra in 5 gal bucket....and you'll have patchwork/gap filler for a very long time 🙌

I'm about to start my journey on fixing my own.

The other redditer gave me this shopping list....just FYI I only found a 50 lb bag of structo lite....but from what I'm told it's worth it.

Shopping list: Bag of Structolite Clean 5 gallon bucket with lid 2 gallon mixing bucket and a good mixing stick Gutter guard wire mesh if there's holes bigger than an inch Wide putty knife and/or taping knife Spray bottle with good misting action Drywall mud
