Perfect depiction of Trump’s ‘O’ face.

Couldn’t unsee it if I tried 😂 The cartoonist nailed both the economics and the expression in one shot

I don’t want to think about Trump’s ‘O’ face.

I love how concerned the dragon looks.

u/Nvenom8 18h ago

Same. Like, even China doesn't know why we're doing this to ourselves.

They really can't believe that all they had to do is ask. Getting VOA and USAID out of the way of their propaganda machine and then the US decides to tank its economy is beyond their wildest dreams. And all they had to do is tell a developmentally disabled person to do it.

Next time Putin and Xi talk, I'm sure Vlad will make sure China knows who to thank.

4

u/antiduh 11h ago

No, they know why. We all know why. It's been obvious for 8-10 years.

Why does it seem like everything Trump does hurts the US?

And why does he always leave Russia out of this stuff? Why is it that everything he does is there to ostensibly help Russia?

Because that's who he works for.

u/Dave_The_Slushy 13h ago

He's like "Why are you hurting my customers, it's just cruel"

The CCP is communist in name only.

2

u/GenericFatGuy 13h ago

It's not fun when they don't even try.

The dragon's concern nails how baffled Chinese netizens are by these moves lol

Kendrick Lamar said "I was gonna kill a couple rappers but they did it to themselves". That's the exact position that china has about the US right now.

If Trump was a Russian puppet would he behave any differently? You really have to wonder what kind of cognitive dissonance Republicans are working with. He's done everything except write them a poem admitting to working to harm the US.

Don’t forget the companies that rolled over and settled out of court, like Meta for $25M and ABC for $15M. Should count those as donations

1

u/daveinsf 14h ago

In all fairness, some only contributed to the inauguration slush fund once he was on his way to the coronation, so a bit of bet-hedging.

It's still deeply problematic, to massively understate the situation.

u/der_horst23 23h ago

Maybe someone should turn the page in book Drumpf currently tries to read. I think its a dictionary and he is stuck on the page with the word tariffs....

8

u/customer_service_af 20h ago

Trump being able to read is a bold take

3

u/der_horst23 19h ago

Good one, maybe there are pictures in that dictionary

2

u/asyork 8h ago

Perhaps a diplomacy for dictators themed alphabet book.

Ngl, i do hate the Chinese gov and believe there notfor the people, but seeing my country, and russia causing so much shit for no utter reason, ive grown some respect for the Chinese gov to not be ego toddlers

3

u/Flocculencio 11h ago

I mean the CCP are authoritarians but they do govern in what they genuinely define as China's best interests. You and I might not broadly agree with them on what those best interests are but their logic is internally consistent.

2

u/starbucks77 10h ago

ive grown some respect for the Chinese gov to not be ego toddlers

I've lived in China. They are absolutely ego toddlers. Everything is about 'Face', or rather how they appear to others. They flip out exactly like Trump if they get embarrassed. They literally used to have a "Wolf Warrior " political policy which is extremely aggressive. Does anyone remember how bad they flipped out when Pelosi dropped by Taiwan? Threatening war & other nonsense? Or when they held their rare earth exports back because their feelings were hurt? That's only going back a couple of years. Only an ego toddler would ban movies because they don't like something in them. Hollywood has to appease the PRC so their feelings aren't hurt or Hollywood's movies aren't allowed in the country.

1

u/Flocculencio 4h ago

There's a reason for this, though- it all goes back to the Century of Humiliation where China was subject to unequal treaties, erosion of sovereignty and straight up invasion.

The 'not losing face' thing is part of how the CCP constructs its legitimacy, and the CCP is very interested in maintaining its legitimacy. The posturing may seem absurd and even counterproductive from a foreign relations perspective but its notable that it generally isn't allowed to get to the point where it really affects cash flow. It's red meat for the masses, a way in which the CCP can visibly show the people that the Party is Standing Up for China's Rights (by their own definition).

This is also why they're quite chill with local protests about local government issues- it allows Beijing to be seen as a strong central force cracking down on corruption at lower levels.

It's not unlike what the whole MAGA frenzy is about- the weird thing is that the MAGAts genuinely shot themselves in the foot which the CCP generally tries to avoid.

Hello! Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately it has been removed because you don't meet our karma threshold.

You are not being removed for political orientation. If we were, why the fuck would we tell you your comment was being removed instead of just shadow removing it? We never have, and never will, remove things down politicial or ideological lines. Unless your ideology is nihilism, then fuck you.

Let me be clear: The reason that this rule exists is to avoid unscrupulous internet denizens from trying to sell dong pills to our users. /r/PoliticalHumor mods reserve the RIGHT to hoard all of the dong pills to ourselves, and we refuse to share them with the community. If you want Serbo-Slokovian dong pills mailed directly to your door, become a moderator. If we shared the dong pills with the greater community, everyone would have massive dongs, and like Syndrome warned us about decades ago: "if everyone has massive dongs, nobody does.""

If you wish to rectify your low karma issue, go and make things up in /r/AskReddit like everyone else does.

Thanks for understanding! Have a nice day and be well. <3

You uh... you got any more of them dong pills?

1

u/ConstantStatistician 11h ago

For real, though. China benefits from being able to buy and sell from the US without disruptions like this, so that's why the dragon looks so worried. Trade in general is good for countries.

Has China even thanked the US once?

Stop with a trump derangement syndrome and spread the hate out a bit more.

Title should be:

Unsurprisingly, Republicans hurt America with their tariff.

Let's catch all Republicans and Trump voters in the net and heap the blame on the whole group.
