Yeah, can we not start flooding Reddit with AI comics?
7
u/hdkaoskd 2d ago
On the other hand, they scrape Reddit as input to their AI models. Maybe it's OK to shit where they eat.
9
u/Intrebute 2d ago
No thank you. Letting them shit where we eat just so they eat shit is not really appealing to me.

u/UndefFox 2d ago
AI is okay, as long as it's OG and was clearly put in some effort to make it look good. Hate that people make shit copies of others works because now they have AI.

If you don't enjoy spending many hours talking to users/upper management/etc, product managers are very helpful.

u/somebody_odd 2d ago
Absolutely. I have better things to do than telling people that their requests document sucks and is so poorly thought out and written that I actually got dumber after reading it.

I don't understand all these memes shitting on pms. are there really that many bad pms or have people making these never worked in a company?
10
u/Redditspoorly 2d ago
Basically, if you're lazy and unmotivated and someone at your work asks you to do things, you'll channel that negative attitude towards them. In scrum/agile that's usually a PM/PO.
The PM role has exactly the same attitude towards delivery lead/senior lead roles etc

u/FlakyTest8191 2d ago
And just like on any job there's bad ones who overpromise to stakeholders and blame you when it doesn't work out.

u/hearthebell 2d ago
I just got a new job and even as I have a hard time understanding the whole goingson I still find it hard to see this meme to utterly shit on them like that. They seem friendly and nice at least, I wouldn't call anyone like that useless by any means.
AI is using trivial propaganda to slowly devide us, aided my humans. 😳

Engineering managers, technical project managers, product managers.
After working in a bigger company, I thank the lord on high that these roles exist.
They are a Great Wall that protects the engineering team from a whole apocalyptic shitstorm that I want no part in.

I have enough hard skills to understand what the smarter people are doing and enough soft skills and spine to keep those people unfucked with.

I love my product manager, and he seems to really understand our app well from a technical standpoint…better than a lot of our devs even..

u/NotMyGovernor 2d ago
Once upon a time I thought you couldn't be engineer type smart and have proper good 'people skills'. And I lived blissfully happy knowing this. Then I took a job at a "FANNG" level company.

u/Evening_Top 2d ago
A good PM is worth more than half a dozen shit devs. A good PM keeps things on track and enables you to avoid all the horrendous shit that doesn’t involve actual programming. All it takes is one good PM and you’ll be ruined for good

u/NotMyGovernor 2d ago
bad you mean?
9
u/Evening_Top 2d ago
No I mean one good one will ruin you like that freaky girl you hooked up with in college and now every other woman just seems vanilla

See I don’t mind AI comics if they are actually good. But I can’t even figure who is saying what here. At least put some effort in fixing speech bubbles.

We got a new project manager recently and every time he opens his mouth I internally shake my head lol

I'm so confused. Why does the guy who says he's the product manager say that he's useless in the next panel? And then he suddenly says that he's the product manager again?

"I don't have any creativity."
"I must be an AI artist!"
"Nope, just useless."
"Definitely an AI artist!"

That's it. After a bazillion "senior vs junior" and "hurr durr, managers suck" posts, this sub has finally reached peak AI humor!
Gonna leave and mute this sub. So... see you tomorrow!

How in the World is this AI Slop the first ever Post or Comment you ever made on an 15 year old account?

u/SannaFani69 2d ago
I don't like that people shit on Product Owners/Managers.
We had to run a project without one for a year. It was a nightmare. I would rather stab my balls that interact with upper management, or business stakeholders.
I have mad respect for them for dealing with all the bullshit.

Chat GPT, make Web comics that would appeal to r/programmerhumour on reddit and give me large amounts of upvotes.

u/SchizoPosting_ 2d ago
Sure! Here's some shitty Al slop that will make you drown on downvotes and hate comments from anyone who's not a reply bot

Why does this have so many upvotes the third panel does not make sense. Do people not even think by themselves anymore

u/HarriKnox 2d ago
This is just a shitty ripoff of a u/_workchronicles comic where you fucked up the third panel
