Maybe you’re supposed to read it as “depart men of education”.

72

u/NickyDeeM 15d ago

Oof. This is too witty, too insightful, too intelligent, too funny....

27

u/Fabulous-Big8779 15d ago

So definitely not what Musk intended.

17

u/Open_Bait 15d ago

I mean... thats how nazis did it and it seems like its going on in us now

4

u/BoatSouth1911 15d ago

You know that NBA meme “Get ready to learn Chinese buddy”? Yeah.

3

u/northerncal 14d ago

Pol pot too.

Think that's about the GOP's level rn

9

u/rpgnoob17 15d ago edited 15d ago

RIP, all the men of education who got laid off.

3

u/Musbjoekin 15d ago

That’s what I took from it

3

u/Kallomato 15d ago

He has a super high IQ so this is probably it, a fun highly inteligent joke.

1

u/Mrmorbid81 12d ago

High IQ? Naw, he’s high in lots of other areas of life like bank account, Number of K-Holes he’s experienced, number of turkey baster kids he’s made & abandoned, government workers he’s fired, government contracts he’s racked up, social awkwardness & things he’s taken credit for, but a high IQ is definitely not one of them. That myth needs to die out as soon as possible.

152

u/severinks 15d ago

Then Musk wonders why people are blowing up his products.

17

u/justme1031 15d ago

He's trolling us. He is trying to provoke more violence because they want to declare martial law against us. People need to stop the dangerous destruction.

36

u/rnz 15d ago

He is trying to provoke more violence because they want to declare martial law against us. People need to stop the dangerous destruction.

Wait, you dont think anything will stop them once they decide they want martial law, do you?

7

u/TheMadPhilosophist 15d ago

If marshall law is declared, everything that comes next will depend on the generals.

During his previous presidency, I viewed an ex-general talking, and he appeared to allude that if a president tries to subvert the US Constitution and the democracy, that there were measures in place to preserve our democracy. He did not go into it and he fumbled with his words and just left it at that.

My takeaway was, that the generals at the time (and maybe right now) had a greater commitment to the Constitution than they did to any sitting president (and I imagine that this still holds true, especially when the president is a draft dodger).

6

u/Meihem76 15d ago

Which is why so many have been fired.

5

u/Leading-End4288 14d ago

The JAGS, yes, but not the generals (yet)

1

u/Dimn_Blingo 12d ago

Marshall Law is a Tekken character

-8

u/justme1031 15d ago

I think it is a dangerous game to play. People should protest loudly, but the vandalism and attacks will work against the people. That is what I'm saying.

26

u/rnz 15d ago

but the vandalism and attacks will work against the people.

No polite action will reverse this course towards autocracy in the US. We need to stop being delusional about it.

0

u/justme1031 15d ago

That didn't come across correctly. I was trying to convey that violence and vandalism are counterproductive to the cause.

14

u/Sufficient-Dish-3517 15d ago

Not once in American history has a right been won by the people without violence.

9

u/rnz 15d ago

I was trying to convey that violence and vandalism are counterproductive to the cause.

But there is no productive alternative left tbh. They even contest the legitimacy of the judiciary branch, are ignoring congress, are controlling or threatening the media and are misusing public agencies.

-1

u/justme1031 15d ago

I disagree until the enforcement by the judiciary branch, which has not yet been attempted, fails.

2

u/NoExercise6143 15d ago

Well they seem to be just extending the tros? Should we not do anything if they just extended the tros threw the whole term

1

u/justme1031 15d ago

This is a standard tactic in high-conflict litigation, and eventually, they will seek enforcement.

9

u/BullfrogAshamed6038 15d ago

When peaceful protests are overlooked it makes Violent protests unavoidable.

Not to straight up advocate violence as a "go to" but when they turn their nose up and laugh,/restrict or try to outlaw gathering and protests from happening then what do you think will happen?

1

u/justme1031 15d ago

Martial law and then what?

5

u/Free-Dust-2071 15d ago

Playing nice like they tell us to will not stop what's coming. If we don't start something they will Orchestrate something for the needed pretext anyways.

2

u/Exact-Pound-6993 15d ago

When billionaires can buy the government, and they stop representing and hearing the rest of us, there is nothing else to do but riot.

3

u/ergaster8213 15d ago

Tell me when violence has not been included in revolution

14

u/Sad_Ad5369 15d ago

No. They will declare martial law once they think there won't be significant opposition. What the people do will not factor in. Don't stop protesting because of the fear of a martial law, because when it comes to fascists, they will find a reason anyways.

3

u/justme1031 15d ago

I'm not advocating for anyone to stop protesting. I'm saying that vandalism and property destruction must stop. Peaceful protest is more powerful.

2

u/Letters-of-disgust 14d ago

Protest is inherently violent. It must put forth the threat of violence, or else it won't be heard.

3

u/hellomii 14d ago

FYI- Early voting to take back the House starts March 22.

Special elections on April 1 happening in Florida District 1 and 6 and upcoming in NY District 21. If we can flip the seats to Democrats, we can take back House majority and weaken the Felon’s agenda.

There is also a critical State Supreme Court election in Wisconsin on April 1.

Please help spread the word to strategically vote. Every conversation and vote matters. We need all the help we can get.

Details on how to help here: https://www.reddit.com/r/50501/s/OHEgyyOXaV

3

u/Pale-Leek-1013 15d ago

lol if they want to declare martial law they will declare martial law

3

u/_reg1nn33 14d ago

Stop giving this idiot more credit than he deserves. He is not some strategic mastermind. He pretended to be a top 10 Path of Exile 2 player by playing an obviously boosted account. Its not some next level trolling, its vanity, greed and a fragile ego.

u/Skurvy2k 15d ago

2

u/AncientBaseball9165 14d ago

yeah nah, time to take the mask off and show the people what they won with that election

96

u/Zaraki42 15d ago

"Hey, let's get rid of education!" - says least educated nation on Earth with some of the lowest test scores.

44

u/drubus_dong 15d ago

40% percent of Americans think the earth is 6000 years old. 50% think that Trump is a good president. The idiocy is boundless.

30

u/OkIndustry6159 15d ago

This is disingenuous and I will correct it every time. It's not 50%. Its 33%. That's it! That's all it took to take down the US.

26

u/VagueSomething 15d ago

33% voted enthusiastically for Trump. Another 33% chose not to vote because they were content with Trump getting in. Only 33% tried to Resist.

Not voting in an age where all of human history is in your hand so you have no excuse to be ignorant is choosing to support the worst case result. Anyone who didn't vote cast their vote for the winner.

14

u/drubus_dong 15d ago

No, it is not. The voting population is a sample for the overall population. And it's way beyond representative. If I had said that 50% voted for Trump, that would have been incorrect. But I didn't say that. I said 50% think he's a good president. Which is extremely well founded in a survey that had a sample that covered over 60% of the entire population.

2

u/OzzyFinnegan 15d ago

Which survey is that?

0

u/drubus_dong 15d ago

The election

7

u/Knight0fdragon 15d ago

Not voting is a choice. You can’t say that a person who didn’t vote was going to vote either way because their vote was not to vote. You are cherry picking data to get results you want.

0

u/drubus_dong 15d ago

I didn't say that. Your problem is that you don't know how surveys work. You should look that up. It's an important thing to know.

1

u/Knight0fdragon 15d ago

You should look up how surveys work, only 77 million of the 245 million eligible voters voted for Trump. Last I checked, 77/245 is not anywhere near 50%.

5

u/AdministrativeCar868 15d ago

u/drubus_dong is correct here. The sample size is large enough to represent the entire population. However, that is only accurate for the time of the election. Sentiment could have changed since then.

2

u/Prosthemadera 15d ago

It's still misleading to say "50% of Americans" when you mean "50% of people who voted". It could be a similar number, it could be not, but again if you want to be accurate you should specify that.

Especially since you have two groups: 40% of Americans believe the Earth is 6000 years old and you have 50% of voters who think Trump is a good president. Those two groups are not directly comparable or on the same level, if you want to be accurate.

Obviously, the numbers are too high and people are idiots but doesn't Reddit love being overly accurate about minor details?

3

u/drubus_dong 15d ago

I don't mean 50% of people who voted. I mean 50% of Americans. That's why I said it the way I did.

There are no grounds to assume that the non voters would deviate from the voters in their vote share. You could assume that everyone smart understands the importance of voting, and therefore, the non voters are less smart. And since dumb people vote republican, the share of Republicans amongst the non voters is probably higher than 50%. In the context of my comment, that would mean that my assessment of 50% is conservative. If anything, the statement is too correct. But that seems a pointless discussion.

Regarding the overlap between creationists and Trump voters, that must be almost 100%. Both opinions are mind-boggling stupid. Given that intelligence is normal distributed and averages at 100 and has a standard deviation of 15, there are simply not enough stupid people around to populate both groups if they are disjunct.

1

u/duckenjoyer7 14d ago

This is objectively false. Where tf did you pull 40% from?

1

u/drubus_dong 14d ago

goggle . Crazy shit that thing. You should try it sometimes.

5

u/Nawnp 15d ago

I also love how it's only the bottom ranked education states they were in favor of this too.

"Hey our education sucks, let's make it suck even more"

0

u/AdDangerous4182 15d ago

Cuz the federal funding is really helping them out right

3

u/Letters-of-disgust 14d ago

I mean, you laugh but from what I've managed to scrounge up in some quick google searches and fast math:

US spent 251 Billion on the dept. of education in 2024.

(Source: https://www.openthebooks.com/dept-of-ed-spending-soared-749-despite-downsizing-new-doge-inspired-initiative-reveals--fox-news/ )

US has 53~ million kids in public school, both pre-k and high school

(Source: https://nces.ed.gov/programs/digest/d14/tables/dt14_203.10.asp )

251,000,000,000 / 53,000,000 comes to spending about 4,800 dollars a year per student.

That doesn't even scratch the lowest private school costs lmfao. So yeah, it probably won't do any good if it's so underfunded.

5

u/GrumpyJenkins 15d ago

They’ve been doing this for a long time. To paraphrase Carlin, they (all US politicians) have no interest in well-educated, critical thinkers. They want people just smart enough to run the machines, but don’t bother to question anything.

This administration is just being more open about it.

2

u/the_mad_atom 15d ago

True, but Carlin wasn’t talking about the politicians, who he believed are just there to provide the people with the illusion of choice. He was talking about the ownership class, ie the oligarchs, who own all the land and media and have all the politicians and judges in their pocket because the whole country has already been bought and paid for.

1

u/spurburypolice91 15d ago

Wouldn't that be a reason to overhaul the department and start fresh? I doubt that is what's happening, but one can only hope.

29

u/DiegoDynomite 15d ago

Bold of them to assume he made that meme and didn't just steal it from someone else

11

u/Lari-Fari 15d ago

Also isn’t the meme supposed to be against trump?

14

u/ThisWillTakeAllDay 15d ago

It was, the misspelling was intentional. Apparently, Felon didn't get the joke.

22

u/vitaly_antonov 15d ago

You don't get it, he did it on purpose to trigger the libs!!!1!111!!!

And when some libs are sufficiently triggered to start burning his shit, he starts to cry. A genius indeed.

18

u/Responsible_Ad_7995 15d ago

Destroying public education so private companies and churches can take over has always been the plan.

13

u/angry-software-dev 15d ago

Simpsons covered it--

Lisa in a classroom "brought to you by Pepsi" the students are stacked three high in cubical desks, all watching a video presenter (Troy McClure) being multicast to innumerable classrooms for the lessons...

Video Instructor: If you have three Pepsis and drink one, how much more refreshed are you? ... you, the red head in the Chicago school system.

Kid in class via video: Pepsi

Video Instructor: Partial credit!

Oh they’re building all types of walls. Walls to keep some out. Walls to keep some in. Walls to prevent some from getting an education or health care, walls to a peaceful and safe future.

It never ceases to amaze just how cringy Elon Musk somehow still manages to be despite all his wealth, power and influence.

This is why we need education, folks...

1

Ukrainians have better education during full scale war than you, already

1

u/rydan 14d ago

FYI Elon was not educated in America so this literally means nothing.

1

u/Jelmerdts 14d ago

But what happens if you add Kurt Angle to the mix?

1

u/Geostomp 14d ago

That's the plan. Destroy education so they can make a new generation of loyal Republican voters incapable of seeing through their lies.

1

u/This_You4662 14d ago

Best way to get huge amonunt of money for state is cutting healthcare and education funding. Then you can fund private companys who build rockets and other cool stuff... Very logical move.

1

More like the bullshit teachers unions.

1

u/2Tacticaltesticles 11d ago

The biggest shame of it all is how wonderful of a job the department of education was doing!!! I mean the US spends more per student on education than any other developed nation and most of them can read, kind of. Also their math test scores at grade 12 graduation are abysmal. Money well spent.

1

u/Difficult_Yam_3252 11d ago

Something better will come from dissolving the Americas Education Oligarchy

1

u/[deleted] 11d ago

The Founding Fathers left education to the states for a reason. People in New York shouldn't be telling people in Idaho how to run their schools.

-6

u/[deleted] 15d ago

Y'all are trying so hard lmao, it's an obvious typo, it's missing 1 letter calm down lady.

7

u/just_a_mean_jerk 15d ago
