/r/Republican is a partisan subreddit. This is a place for Republicans to discuss issues with other Republicans. To those visiting this thread, we ask that unless you identify as Republican that you refrain from commenting and leave the vote button alone. Non republicans who come to our sub looking for a 'different perspective' subvert that very perspective with their own views when they vote or comment.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Gerald Ford was both Vice President and President without being elected to either office.

4

u/Roudyrepublican 1d ago

Two extremely different situations. Ford did not skip out on a vote he was placed in as VP and then as POTUS when Nixon was impeached.

Last year the Democratic party strategically planned a way to get around the primaries knowing good and well the mental state of then POTUS. They witheld this information intentionally for the purpose of getting Kamala past the primaries and plopping her ass down as the Dem nominee.

You don't get the Fauci stuff? The dude straight lied about mask efficacy and confused the hell out of the population. He later admitted to lying so people wouldn't hoard masks, which they did anyways.

For someone who supposedly was trying to save lives, I'm curious how many deaths he had a hand in for telling people they didn't work.

u/strykersfamilyre 20h ago

Why would this be down voted on r/Republican?

6

u/Purple_Ninja8645 12h ago

I think this subreddit has gotten hijacked.

Fauci was an absolute lunatic and exacerbated the destruction Covid caused

0

u/Dismal_Survey_539 1d ago

an absolute lunatic? because he followed the science that had been around for years? You really had that hard of a time wearing a mask for 12 weeks? Do you even remember covid? In the grand scheme of time life returned to normal overnight. You can be upset but admit that its becuase you WANT to be mad about something not because its actually worth being upset about

0

u/Rich-Web-1898 1d ago

Peer reviewed real science followed by Fauchi. You must be smoking some good weed.

u/Klutzy_Carpenter_289 3d ago

Yes I agree but I think I the Fauci point is valid. Look at the great impact on all Americans he had with recommending school & business closings, masks, 6 ft distance which we now know was BS.

16

u/TurnThatTVOFF 3d ago edited 3d ago

that's not as much of an issue as our leadership bowing to him he did the correct thing which is advise how to circumvent mass spread of an unknown pathogen (whether real or not.)

4

u/Klutzy_Carpenter_289 3d ago

The 6 ft distance was made up. Cloth masks did nothing. The plastic shields in front of desks or checkouts did nothing. The fact that people were sitting next to each other on airplanes & removing their masks to eat or drink & breathing recycled air was a joke, as well as the unmasked BLM protesters who were shouting in the street. There was no consistency, just hypocrisy.

u/TurnThatTVOFF 2d ago

All of government has been that way it didn't start with Fauci.

1

u/Rich-Web-1898 12h ago

Fauchi knew all about Covid, he helped to perfect it. Yes I am a republican.

12

u/Z3r0Coo7 3d ago

It's fucking CRAZY to see so many fauci dickriders here. Guy is a monster.

3

u/sess5198 1d ago

I swear it’s gotta be a left brigade saying all of this stuff here. If there’s anything that the right agrees on, it’s that Fauci was awful and lied to everyone.

2

u/Z3r0Coo7 1d ago edited 7h ago

I bet the govt pays tons of money to people to sit here all day on reddit and run a narrative. Just what they do. Not that many people can be this crazy... but who knows. 🤣

2

u/sess5198 10h ago

Hey bud, I wouldn’t put it past them lol. There’s been plenty of lefty brigading going on in conservative subs as of late. I almost feel like there needs to be some sort of verification system (I know some subs require you to be flared by the mods in order to comment/post) to keep them away so we can have legitimate comment sections, not just an extension of mainstream lefty Reddit. At the same time, though, I don’t want to give them anything to fuel their “the right is fascist and silencing their opponents” bullshit. No easy solution there, unfortunately.

1

u/Z3r0Coo7 7h ago

I feel that and thanks for responding bc vc chopped my shit up like an onion. 🤣🤣 Have a good weekend buddy. We'll be fine as always. Let em cry for a while. 😆

The mandatory vaccines with zero research, that are now proving to be more harmful than helpful.

-1

u/Pebbles963 2d ago

I knew it was a bunch of bs regarding the shots. I didn’t get any shots. I have a weak immune system and I was 55 at the time. I never once got sick. One of my sisters, one brother and my Dad got “Covid” and they got the shots. Go figure!

1

u/Purple_Nerve_7115 2d ago

Interesting downvotes. I’m not anti-vax. I got vaccinated as a kid for the usual stuff. Those have been around for a long time a proven to be effective. The Covid vaccine was pumped out in months and then mandated. That’s a problem.

0

u/Pebbles963 2d ago

Exactly why I didn’t do the vax.

u/Lynke524 3d ago

We may not have voted for Elon, but we voted for Trump who was very open with his plans with DOGE, so we also did vote for him because we voted for Trump.

13

u/Donosoley2 3d ago

During elections, Doge was supposed to be spearheaded by Elon and Vivek. So no, we didn’t vote for Elon, we voted for a dual ownership of a department answering to Trump. Which we do not have anymore.

9

u/Ok-Wrongdoer-9647 3d ago

We did elect Elon though. Trump campaigned directly on bringing in Elon Musk to run Doge and downsize the government. It was very widely known this was a core piece of his platform so by electing Donald Trump, you are in effect electing Elon Musk to do those things. It’s one thing if he jumped in after the election was over but it was a core piece of the campaign.

12

u/LarryMyster 3d ago

But Elon isn’t the president as the left keeps continuing to push that agenda. I think it’s hilarious.

-1

u/Dismal_Survey_539 1d ago

Thats not how elections work bud...

1

u/Real_FrogMaster2318 3d ago

Love it and I love how hypocritical the dems are

2

u/ArcadianDelSol 3d ago

I was banned from PublicFreakout because someone said "No one voted for Elon" and I replied, "no one voted for Fauci, either"

They said I was spreading anti-vaxx disinformation and banned me from the sub.

-1

u/Disastrous_Falcon_79 3d ago

He didn’t need to be elected ! He was appointed to do a job.

1

u/eklect 7h ago

Geeze. Vance cant even get a full finger photo. Poor JD.

-3

u/aguywlthanopinion 3d ago

The funny thing is, elon doesn't have to be elected into the position he is in 😂

1

u/drgmaster909 2d ago

Driving to the polls on Nov 5 I was telling my wife what a missed opportunity it would be the country failed to elect Trump to put Elon, RFK, Tulsi, Vivek (aww), Vance, etc where they are.

But according to dems I didn't have that very specific conversation with my wife.

Weird.

Reminds me of that recently psychology study where the extremist "moral" people go based off of gut and have low self-awareness and don't think critically.

Found it: https://www.psypost.org/neuroscientists-link-low-self-awareness-to-stronger-brain-reactions-to-moralized-issues/

It's also still on the front page of the psychology sub.

Sure. Now, let's discuss the DNC of 2024 in Chicago, Illinois, and if they also "democratically" nominated the Former Vice President Kamala Harris as the next 2024 Presidential candidate against the Former President, two-time champ Donald J. Trump.

You do have a point. As a former Democrat (never woke) who supported Hillary Clinton back in 2016 and was considered Anti-Trump with severe TDS who is now a Republican and now supported Trump and the MAGA movement, it is also last minute and a hassle to do all the debates, rallies, campaigns, etc. for the DNC of 2024 similar to what the Republicans did in 2024 since election day was a few months away and Trump is already in a significant lead and is nominated as Republican’s 2024 presidential candidate pick. Even if Kamala won the traditional approach by doing campaigns, rallies, and debates, even if the DNC chose to do a primary election, Kamala Harris will already have significant insufficient time in the end with the rallies and campaigns which will still not make her elected against the Former President Donald J. Trump. Yet again, Kamala Harris did not win the election due to ineffective campaign, heavy dependency of celebrity endorsement, and the overall impact of Biden’s presidency from 2021-2025.

And this time (if rumors are true) Musk will leave faster than in first term. I get it, he prioritizes his wealth first, but then he is not true to his promise, to fix bloat in governement. It is as always, he is underestimates the challenge he accepted. And part of the challenge is becoming unpopular. It reminds me some of CTO/CEO who come into a company, promise drastical changes, starts cutting existing proceses, than sees that it is harder than seemed from the beginning and leaves for another company by leaving the started poop behind.

So far Doge saved $140bil which is <1% of total $6.8trillion, which I would hardly say goal achieved. Media wrote so much about saved millions, but in reality result is miniscule. As well to proudly tell that Doge workers work 16+ hours is bs. Those guys are not slaves, and no one can sustain such workload for long without burning out. So if those guys are as bright as being said it is really irrational to burn them and discard, as such caliber guys cannot be found on the street.

And lastly, this is not a sprint but a marathon. Once you cut spending or identify loophole, you need to make it sure it won't happen again. And you need to see through it till the end, so at least till the end of the term.

Anyway, maybe it is just rumours and Musk stays, or maybe someone with longer attention span will be put in place to see budget spending put under control. Otherwise it will be another undelivered promise and we heard those million times from both parties.

u/Sweet-Audience-6981 2d ago

So true but good luck getting any of them to see this truth. Like w many other truths when presented to so many of them (literally all the ones I've known and interacted with) they can't tolerate it, flip out and/ or run away....

0

u/BLH46 2d ago

I am a supporter of Doge and Elon. While I support open dialogue I believe that debating the Elon election question plays directly into the Dems game plan! Other than the President and VP no one in the administration was elected regardless of their role supporting the President.

-10

u/marksman81991 3d ago

No shit, we didn’t vote for him but he sure as hell is helping a lot.

0

u/xAuntRhodyx 2d ago edited 2d ago

Lots of hate for elon in here and lots of lefty love is weird

0

u/Character-Owl-6255 1d ago

Love it! I never understood all this "not elected" is all about since so few running the country are elected in the first place!

-4

u/Tytonic7_ 2d ago

This is how government works. You elect people to positions and they then delegate the work accordingly to meet their responsibilities. There's literally millions of un-elected government workers.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doge isn't actually cutting spending- they're just identifying it so that the people who DO have the authority can remove it. That makes them more like consultants in my eyes.

-5

u/Abhorred_One 3d ago

We elected him through Trump. He said exactly what he would do, and now he's doing exactly what he said he was going to do.

Elon IS elected to do what he's doing. Americans not only WANT this but we NEED it.

-3

u/Publishingpeach 3d ago

I wouldn’t put that picture up of them all shooting birds. I don’t think they would appreciate that.

It’s 2 billionaires the left is worried about? Not the thievery Democrats

0

u/king_merc_fisher 2d ago

We did trump appointed him it’s not like Elon just got the position the left is so stupid!

-3

u/afbabybluegirl 3d ago

I really like Musk, now he’s stepping down from DOGE after fulfilling the 90 days. I find it funny that he gets on people’s nerves like Candace Owens REALLY doesn’t like him lol I love Candace but she gets a bit cooky when it comes to him
