Wow. Senkin Tsurukame 19

Post image

This was a gift. I wouldn't buy myself a sake this expensive…though after drinking it I may need to revise that policy. Wow. Rich floral, slightly spicy nose, beautifully balanced sweetness, and a spicy finish. I am not expert enough to adequately describe how great this was. The second serving was out of a wine glass, which was the right call.

Depends where you live, but in the states Senkin Nature, Urara, and Modern are all great imo

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out. I live in the States but I'm in Japan pretty regularly.

Its important to know Senkin has rehawled their brand from this year so they dont make sokujo anymore and only kimoto. That means the modern Senkin is dead. Classic Senkin survives but classic senkin with Kamenoo Rice, Omachi rice and Yamadanishiki rice are renamed to: Yamadanishiki rice to ModernSenkin Kamenoo Rice to ClassicSenkin Omachi rice to Retro Senkin.

What i hear those new senkin are very different compared to old ClassicSenkin.

So when buying other senkin you have to find out if its a pre or post Rembrandt senkin.
