it was just a game in a show. we are not this weird in Germany to have a whole TV show just about splitting things in half.

It’s a shame because I would totally watch that

There are very few things I'm good at- judging the right size container for leftovers and cutting things in half are two of the few.

I would watch this show and would want desperately to be on it.

Ooh the right size container for leftovers is an amazing idea

If you had a sibling, even more difficult to cut snacks perfectly in half.

You must have the powers that were removed from me. Those are literally my two weaknesses. I am almost 40, at the primary preparer of food in our home and I STILL fuck up every container spatial judgement I’ve ever ver made, and always like… COMICALLY wrong

Where is that branch on the skill tree that let's me find the right size container for leftovers? I only seem to have skilled unnecessary things like finding every speck of dust after just cleaning up or identifying which neighbour the current noise comes from.

I would too. What a great concept

And it seems like the most German precision game show ever. 😂

u/ImpossibleHurry 15h ago

I’d watch some of that. Maybe not most of it. But definitely some.

Me too!

I came to the comments to find the name of the show.. I'm leaving very disappointed that it's not just splitting things.

u/RoyalEnfield78 17h ago

Maybe we need to invent this game!

1

u/Bluedemonde 1d ago

Definitely is a shame, I came here to ask the name of the show and where to binge watch it…

13

u/Schuhsohle 1d ago

To be honest. That wouldn’t be the worst show we have 🤔 😅

1

u/Yhostled 1d ago

Yo what's up with that talking bread? I have a coworker from Germany who told us about it xD

I really wish I could remember the details!

Disappointed by Germany again

They were just following orders

3

u/MobbDeeep 1d ago

Just like we did with berlin?

I love that show. As an English speaking American, I have watched hours of it not understanding a single thing they’re saying. You can figure it out mostly. I also watched the Beat The Star version. Netflix needs to reboot this, particularly because they can make it so you don’t know how much time is left in the episode, which is important for the nature of the show.

As an English speaking American

uh... good for you I guess?

2

u/herefornothing2 17h ago

🤣 I meant only English LOL

u/Due_Force_9816 1d ago

Come on,, I want more!

1

u/Nothinghere3191 1d ago

I would watch this as long as I was home for sure tho

1

u/IllegalIranianYogurt 1d ago

You are differently but equally weird in Germany. I see you

1

u/ibejeph 1d ago

I want to believe that this is what Germans do for fun.

1

u/SnooCakes2703 1d ago

This shit is still German as fuck, in a good way.

1

u/SueBeee 1d ago

I would watch that theoretical show

1

u/CharlesLeChuck 14h ago

That's really too bad. I would watch that all the time.

1

u/doop94 9h ago

Well maybe u should have one

13

u/Machobots 1d ago

You obviously need two scales to check

u/Proper-Shan-Like 1d ago

Drug dealers gonna smash this game show.

8

u/weareallmadherealice 1d ago

I am very high and I would watch this for hours

Our kids would totally win at this game!

Since they were little, if they were sharing something, one person splits it and the other person chooses. They’d ENSURE it was exactly half lest the other sibling got more than they did.

2

u/therealhlmencken 1d ago

The secret is to split it in a way that the smaller half looks bigger

The guy on the right nailing it is a famous German TV chef. I guess he has an advantage but its still quite impressing.

Original show was called Schlag den raab (beat Raab, named after famous German entertainer Stefan Raab), after he retired they did schlag den star (beat the star) with random celebrities competing against normal people or other celebrities

Every time I see this video I desperately feel like I need a soft pretzel.

3

u/krush_groove 1d ago

Every time I go to Germany or Austria I have to have brezels, they are so good.

2

u/Beginning_Charge_758 1d ago

No wonder their obsession and OCD with symmetry.

2

u/lucianro 1d ago

So can you lift the pretzel and try to balance it on the blade, and when it balances you basically found the middle where to cut :)) ?

2

u/f_o_t_a 1d ago

Rule 26b prohibits this exact thing.

2

u/Steampunk_Dali 1d ago

I'm 50:50 what I think about this

2

u/OpeningZebra1670 1d ago

We have the same show in America- it’s called, ‘Divorce Court.’

2

u/JN88DN 1d ago

Not the whole show is about splitting things. The show has many games of different disciplines.

Splitting things has been only once played ever.

2

u/TPlain940 23h ago

Stackenblochen!

2

u/Cantstandia 1d ago

They did that with Berlin

2

u/OkCandidate2541 1d ago

The German-est German show out there.

1

u/ChogaMish 1d ago

Have you seen our reality shows?!...I'd watch a 24hr marathon of things being cut in half.

1

u/cuntsaurus 1d ago

This sounds fucking riveting

1

u/Rightmateonya 1d ago

They yearn to split an atom.

1

u/BartholomewCubbinz 1d ago

Perfectenschlag

1

u/Humble-Cod2631 1d ago

Us four brothers did that for most of our childhood: “you cut, I choose”.. down to the microgram

1

u/Technical_Ask6065 1d ago

This is Steffen Henssler, the best chef in the world ;)

1

u/adhdgurlie 1d ago

This is so german

1

u/Zuli_Muli 1d ago

The polite clapping as he does the thing they are all there to see 😂

1

u/Tooleater 1d ago

A bit dull but there are wurst ways to spend your time

1

u/Grouchy-Engine1584 1d ago

This is the Germanist German Germaning.

1

u/JoeyPsych 1d ago

Now try asymmetric items

1

u/DaiquiriLevi 1d ago

TRANSFORMATION KOMPLETT

1

u/freelandguy121 1d ago

How efficient

1

u/JackyVeronica 1d ago

I'd love to see them split a jumbo bag of M & Ms evenly in two portions

1

u/Hamezz5u 1d ago

Haha the most German shit ever

1

u/MeMeMeOnly 1d ago

I was hosting a party and hand sliced probably around 100 pieces of crostini. Every single one was the exact same width. My guests were shocked when they realized I had cut them myself with a knife. Quite honestly, I had no idea other people couldn’t do it.

1

u/Cosmonauta-DOS 1d ago

They played that game with apples on Argentine TV in the 80s.

1

u/rebeccaisdope 1d ago

Now this is quality tv. I need this in America

1

u/newoldschool 1d ago

wait till you see Japanese game shows

1

u/BlockOfASeagull 22h ago

Schlag den Raab. Contestant competed against the host of the show, Stefan Raab. He had all sorts of really funny ideas.

1

u/The-Hammer92 20h ago

I love these weird wholesome German game shows

1

u/lampsane 20h ago

Parents with two children favorite game

1

u/gurganator 19h ago

That’s the most German thing I’ve ever seen

1

u/trashtakesonly 18h ago

Ive got no evidence of this and have never tried but why do i feel like i would be very good at this just naturally

1

u/literall_bastard 18h ago

Every German tv show presented on Reddit would sound German even if there was no sound on them

1

u/Saltydiver21 17h ago

I’d rather watch two pretzels get cut in two than this American reality drama bullshit.

1

u/Subject_Roof3318 15h ago

Ugh. I would totally watch. God im lame.

1

u/Nogardtist 15h ago
