And I feel like I have to tell you that I have a pair of giant Mickey Mouse hands that are like plush that look just like this π

That's exactly the look I was going for! They were harder to draw than I expected because they're so smooth but also with that inflated look.

Success π!
It's interesting the things that are harder than you think to draw isn't it?

This is kinda hilarious! The expressions especially!

It's from an old cartoon called Heckle and Jeckle, about two magpies. :) from the 60's/70's.
Edited to add - wow I looked it up and it ran from the 40's up to 79'.

It was a fun show, it played with Mighty Mouse when I was very little.

Definitely counts. It's a flying type, which used to be the bird type, so it's a bird. And those are definitely arms. Ergo, bird with arms!

This Donald is so nice! You really captured his movements.
Welcome!

I never thought of him as a bird with arms. That's absolutely works! Nice rendering Uncle Donald.

Do it for free draw friday if you like the prompt! I'm doing that with today's alt theme, I like "bed of cheese" so I'm drawing it for tomorrow. Or you can catch up!

Oh no, don't be sad! All is not lost - you can post late. Some people catch up multiple days at once and that's ok too.

Aww this is so nice! Taking liberties with the prompts is always ok, and personally I love when people do that.

I took some creative liberties with "arms", but I hope this still counts! One day all humans were gone but the birds suddenly had human-like intelligence. It changed their society and how they live their lives forever. The more crafty birds like ravens and magpies soon started to invent little things to help the other birds do their work, like these two scissor arms that are controlled with strings. They use leftover human artefacts such as metal straws and fires that the humans started and they still keep burning to help them create things like this.

Can I call it Edward Scissorhand? π€£

u/Faexinna 0 / 85 2d ago
No, it must be a bird pun at the minimum for me to accept the new name! π

Whoa that's pretty cool!
Both concept and execution.

Thank you! I was planning to go into an entirely different direction first but then I got this idea and I couldn't help myself π

..And that's how I found out about r/birdswitharms

No way that's a sub! Or more realistically, no way that's not a sub.
2
u/chaths 70 / 72 2d ago
It used to be popular, I'm hoping for a renaissance.
1
u/TheAltOfAnAltToo 85 / 85 2d ago
I feel like posting my own bird there, it's a v cute sub π
1
u/chaths 70 / 72 2d ago
Yes. Let's revitalize r/birdswitharms.
I didn't know that sub existed all this time and now I have a massive trove of fun references to sketch and animate.
Fun will be had. Definately.

It used to be a pretty popular sub. Over a million subs and look at how low the activity level is. Tide comes in, tide goes out.

I wonder if it was the same reference of tea time bird for me and you π«£π

I did this last February, so this time, I gave the bird arms AND feet.
Previous, much better art.
