I assume 9/10 times he’d just fly up towards the sun, right here is the exception wheres hes too injured to even push krypto away

u/Glittering-Taro-4932 1d ago

Why is a man flying? Why does a ring give people powers? Why can a man be made up of different materials? It’s a Comicbook movie dude

Lol where were you 12 years ago

14

u/Background-Ship5020 1d ago

So it’s confirmed, Snyder fans want the Fortress of Solitude to be built in Jamaica.

1

u/FortLoolz 1d ago

I mean that's logical when we talk about the scene's logic.

Gunn just didn't have to come up with a scene where Superman's healing factor has to be assisted this way. But he did, and hence it's a kinda logical conclusion

u/Mike-Outstanding 1d ago

Gunn supporters are all in this thread

u/Glittering-Taro-4932 1d ago

You can be a fan of both. They aren’t mutually exclusive

That’s a funny valid point. That detail is not gonna bother my movie experience though.

-14

u/Horror_Campaign9418 1d ago

Gunn has no attention to detail.

I'm pretty sure this is actually from the comics, and it was in Man of Steel too (But correct me if I'm wrong, it has been a while since I seen the movie)

The post is a valid question, but most people probably won't even think about it.

Most people will be watching Fantastic 4 and Jurassic World that month, not this piece of shit.

2

u/Potential_Load_6169 1d ago

Okay? I didn't say they will be watching it? Or I don't know why you said this.

Time for a change.

do you think he should drink his pee to heal.. not kidding, self sustainance

5

u/worldturtle21 1d ago

Wasn’t the Fortress located in the arctic in Man of Steel, as well?

14

u/Schwoombis 1d ago

no, no they don’t

-18

u/Horror_Campaign9418 1d ago

He flies up and receives the suns energy by leaving the earths atmosphere.

Gunn makes him reliant on a machine in the place with the least amount of sun.

Brilliant.

16

u/SHAZAMS_STRONGEST 1d ago

you'll never guess where the machine that used solar energy to REVIVE HIM FROM THE DEAD was located

  1. Where did krypto come from?

  2. Why didn’t Krypto fly superman home? Cant he fly?

  3. Its probably easier for superman to travel up to get some sun than to fly and land at the fortress.

Gunn logic!

8

u/beckersonOwO_7 1d ago

Superman fell out of the sky and had to have Krypto drag him back I doubt he could flt to the atmosphere.

0

u/Horror_Campaign9418 1d ago

Flying is like breathing air for him.

What a weak ass superman.

5

u/royalneonbird 1d ago

Depending of the injury people do have a hard time breathing

3

u/beckersonOwO_7 1d ago

Not weak just injured.

u/ArrowsOfFate 1d ago edited 1d ago

1) Kinda in the name but. Just add an N at the end. Krypto is from Krypton. 2) As to if krypto can fly im sure the movie will show if he can or can’t. A trailer shouldn’t give everything away. However a photo of krypto and Superman chilling on the moon makes me think yes he can fly, but hes clearly got some puppy behavior still so might not be a trained flier yet.

He went to the fortress because the fortress was a short distance away and had what Superman needed. It’s also probably where krypto is quite familiar with.

3) it’s probably not easier to fly up to the atmosphere when you have been utterly exhausted by whatever battle he’s just been in, then be dragged behind krypto, which by the way takes no physical effort on his part. He just has to endure pain of his injuries being jostled as he’s dragged, which anyone who’s ever broken ribs or bones can relate to. (Hitting a pothole in a car for most people rather than being dragged)

He also has kryptos play attacks and the pain of being dragged. But if he could fly and walk like an immortal being after being beaten to a pulp, it wouldn’t be getting saved by your dog. Which is much much cooler.

-2

u/Horror_Campaign9418 1d ago
  1. Is krypton not destroyed in this version? I wonder what implications that has to supermans origin story.

  2. Leaving earth is a mere 62 miles upward. Thats nothing at all.

  3. Superman is too hurt to fly? Boy this is one weak ass superman. They should remove Super from the name. That said, flying up should be as simple as whistling with broken lungs.

Apparently he is so mangled he cant stand or fly or walk but his broken lungs can whistle the dickens!

This movie is going to be riddled with these problems I can feel it.

1

u/ArrowsOfFate 1d ago edited 1d ago

Krypton is destroyed for sure. But the interesting thing about a super advanced alien species is that more than one space ship can escape than Superman’s.

For example: In man of steel there was the phantom zone prison ship with General Zod and the other Kryptonians within. The planets destruction released them from the phantom zone.

Going 62 miles upwards isn’t easy at all, it takes humanity immense effort, let alone a Superman with many internal injuries.

Being superman has little to do with power levels. Shazam has the same powers as Superman and can also use magic. Superman is Superman because of who he is, what he stands for, and the relentless determination to make his goals reality that allows him to overcome beings far stronger than he is, like Darkseid. He is a beacon of hope for mankind. A symbol. But yes he’s also absurdly strong, and will show his strength plenty in the movie. But he has never been invincible in the comics, outside of some stories like Superman prime one million.

So. Superman, krypto, supergirl, and any other kryptonians who were off world in time survived. There can be colony worlds as well. There’s been plenty of comic stories of how krypto and supergirl arrived later than Clark. I like supergirl the tv shows.

3

u/AdaSnitch 1d ago

on the point of where Krypto comes from, i assume it's gonna be just something similar to how it's been done in comics no? sent to earth in a test rocket before the one Kal-El was. this isn't a newly invented character, there's source material to be inspired by for how he got to earth as well

5

u/Connorm997 1d ago

I can tell that you are not a fan of Superman at all. Superman often gets beat up by his villains(every superhero does), flying takes effort on Superman's part, and the fortress is close at hand. The fortress is always in the Arctic or North pole somewhere. Dude, whistling and moving your beaten body are two very different things. Where did you get krypton not being destroyed from?

0

u/Horror_Campaign9418 1d ago

How did a dog and his sister survive?

3

u/Connorm997 1d ago

Superman doesn't have a sister my guy

1

u/Horror_Campaign9418 1d ago

Oops meant cousin.

2

u/Connorm997 1d ago

Same way superman survived. But her ship took years to get to earth. I am not sure about krypto he could have been sent with supergirl

Honestly, I couldn't care less. Nitpicking as a whole just kind of annoys me. With Snyder's films, this one, the Sonic movies... it's just mildly infuriating to see people act like one or two tiny mistakes ruin a (probably) good movie.

Have you ever seen it acknowledged, in any media, that the fortress is in the dark for a big chunk of the year? Me neither, if we can buy it in comics I’ll take it in a movie. If anything we’ll say he sure is lucky this happened in arctic summer, or that they charge a backup all summer to use during the winter. This is all impossible anyway, I think as long as there is emotional realism and the plot follows a sensible structure these scientific details can be chalked up to “basically magic” like most science in DC.

-4

u/angrygnome18d 1d ago

I agree, but then my question becomes why wasn’t Snyder also given that leeway? Snyder was handed the first script by Nolan and WB and the second script by WB. They said make a realistic Superman in the vein of The Dark Knight trilogy. Why weren’t the fans this forgiving with Snyder when he was clearly handicapped from the get go? Hell, Nolan talked about how he personally had to shield Snyder from the studios interference, something Snyder didn’t have on the second movie even though he did push back against WB on things.

I’ve been a DC fan since childhood, loved almost all DC content, Superman 78 and all of its sequels, Batman 89 all the way through Batman and Robin, and on and on. I hate to see DC properties fail, and I thought Snyder did a great job creating a “realistic” Superman despite the constraints he was forced to work with. So it’s a bit bittersweet to see fans rally around Gunn and not do the same for Snyder when he was being held back.

1

u/NiceInjury5270 1d ago

If Snyder could have his way he would have put Batman fucking Lois Lane,Warner Said HELL NO!!!. People here are gonna say that was the First draft yada yada yada, but he wanted and Said It was a cool concept like a soldier coming back home

1

u/ListenUpper1178 18h ago

batman was fucking Lois in the first animated universe and nobody complained then

1

u/thekingofdiamonds12 1d ago

Because it started development 16 years ago and times have changed?

-10

u/Super_Candidate7809 1d ago

Hypocrites, all of them, that’s why I’ll HEAVILY nit pick this movie.

5

u/BalladOfBetaRayBill 1d ago

Hey I actually didn’t hate MoS. I think it was a really bad fit to try and start a whole zany DC universe with like Aquaman and SHAZAM in it, but it works as its own thing. I don’t think it deserves all the hate it got, especially since I would say it’s more well-thought out and effortfully conceived than a lot of MCU movies, even if the tone is a little dour.

9

u/Bitter-Plastic3526 1d ago

12 years in the making? What are you talking about?

2

u/ArrowsOfFate 1d ago edited 1d ago

Thats around when man of steel came out and everyone had a lot of questions that Snyder fans didn’t like, like why force Superman into a must kill situation? Why kill Johnathan in a way that Superman could have saved him instead of a heart attack to make Clark feel powerless. Why is Superman’s ego so frail he slams a semi truck through a power pole which surely cost the small town he was in a huge amount of money to fix while leaving people without power.. over a cup of water to the face. Why would Superman steal clothes instead of just asking for them or working them off..Why would Johnathan not know how to answer Clark about letting a bus full of kids die rather than risk his identity as a super human.

Now some fans of Snyder feel happy cuz it’s their turn to poke holes in things they don’t like. Like the question about the plot hole .. aka in real life how The fortress would be in perpetual night for half the year, and sunlight being present 24/7 for 6 months of the year. However all Superman movies including man of steel just gloss over that cuz they are fantasy movies/comics. Not real life.

-1

u/Super_Candidate7809 1d ago

This is the correct answer.

9

u/OfficeDue3971 1d ago

What you mentioned are related in character writing and motivation. The question about sun not hitting during winter is something people like mauler and cinemasins would enjoy entertaining. People with a lot of free time and bitterness.

-8

u/HomemadeBee1612 He's never fought us. Not us united. 1d ago

Having Pa Kent die of a heart attack is meaningless 1950s-era Father Knows Best TV show garbage. It does absolutely nothing to advance the character. It diminishes Superman. It shows he just got his values inserted into him through indoctrination. Superman is a far more interesting character when he is a self-made man who has to make his own decisions and chart his own course. The fact that Superman enters public life as a savior DESPITE being advised to fear the world makes him much more heroic and admirable. It also shows that Superman's morality comes from his own mind and heart, and did not depend on what cornfield his capsule crashed into.

5

u/ArrowsOfFate 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yeah that’s the same mentality they had for the prince in Snow White that just came out and look how that turned out for them. The characters of Superman all matter.

Jimmy Olsen who’s that cia agent in Batman vs Superman that dies in the first like 1 minute of the movie is a vital Superman character. Superman’s best friend. But Snyder didn’t want Superman to have friends. The absolute closest he had to a friend in snyders movies was Bruce Wayne, who he spoke to for perhaps 2 minutes of screen time if that.

-1

u/HomemadeBee1612 He's never fought us. Not us united. 1d ago

There was no intent to have a Jimmy Olsen in Snyder's universe. Does anyone seriously think he was even an important character in the Reeve movies? Or the Routh one? He serves no purpose in the story and has zero character development. Snyder was not going to waste time on a pointless showpiece character.

0

u/Horror_Campaign9418 1d ago

Lois was his best friend and confidant.

Olsen is a cartoonish side kick. I have never seen a version of him that I liked.

Look at my adventures with superman. Just annoying comic relief side kick. Yawn.

3

u/ArrowsOfFate 1d ago edited 1d ago

Louis was his romantic interest and then girlfriend over the movies. The relationship is much different than a friendship. You confuse partnership with friendship, which is not surprising as they have many similarities.

There’s nothing wrong with people having side kicks or side relief roles. Batman has Alfred. Superman has Jimmy. Joker has Harley. I have friends who can make a crappy day better.

I sincerely pity people who think comics should be 24/7 grim dark horror shows of utter rigidity and composure without any room for a laugh or a smile.

-1

u/Horror_Campaign9418 1d ago

Sorry you dont have a partner thats your best friend.

Seems like you dont.

1

u/ArrowsOfFate 1d ago edited 1d ago

Lol even if someone is your best friend for 20 years before you start dating, the relationship evolves once you begin dating; to one of partnership and not friendship. You can still call yourselves best friends, but it’s not the same as before dating at all.

Why you ask? Well.. see.. Normal people don’t ask their best friends to suck their dick and swallow their cum. Shit changes. Partners living together spend much more time together and see each other in more vulnerable ways. They have different boundaries and rules.

The platonic intimacy/ emotional support of friendship are fundamentally different than the physical and emotional intimacy/support of intimate relationships.

-1

u/Horror_Campaign9418 1d ago

Yikes. I feel sorry for how you view relationships.
